Shut the hell up about the SEC (finally!) - Page 9 - Sporting Events and Fantasy Sports

Um, as long as we all acknowledge that the SEC is overrated, and that it's annoying when ESPN shoves it down your throat, then what are we arguing about?

More like this:

GB: SEC is overrated, I am so annoyed, let me rant and rave

Various few 2+2ers: SEC is not overrated.

GB and others: Hey, check out all these cool facts which prove you wrong. Hey, you made a few arguments, check out all these other facts which basically refute everything you just said.

Various other 2+2ers: Well, GB is right but he seems overly angry. Let's make fun of him anyway, and since we ca't refute any of his facts we'll just make fun of the fact that he cares too much about college football.

What are the cool facts that back up you saying that the Pac 10> SEC last season. Please be hitting us with those hard facts.

(hint: "I am a PAC 10 fan!" isn't a fact)

Yea "legitimate shot at beating" is way to open for discussion. If you want to go down this road, it should be legitimate shot at winning conference title in another conference.

There's lots of SEC teams that should win the Big Ten, ACC, or Big East. Winning the Pac 10 would be difficult, ldo, but getting 2nd shouldn't be.

I'm a Vandy fan, and am painfully aware of that fact.
Even the announcers Thurs night agreed. They showed a graphic of the teams that have gone the longest without a winning record, and then pointed out that none of the others had the competition that Vanderbilt does (all small conference schools + Duke).

As long as this has evolved into a Pac-10 vs SEC debate for obvious reasons, I think we should also have a Big East/ACC race to the bottom as well. I mean, these conferences are pretty awful. Wake and WVU are the best teams? The Big East only has three teams this year who are any good whatsoever, and I'm not even sure if the ACC has that. Wake, potentially FSU, and... ?

I hate the SEC. When SEC teams play, I root against them. I want them all to lose, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, LSU.....all of them.

Despite that, the best conference, by far, is the SEC, and has been for years.
