Listen, I'm a fan of the Winter Olympics and all. I'll tune in and watch some random **** I would otherwise never give the time of day.
However, I'm not interested in scanning the Olympics threads for the true GOAT Olympic sport, CURLING.
So I figured we should have a thread for this for the people who recognize the one true GOAT and want a standalone place to sweat the best CURLS, ROLLS, SPARES and of course TAKE OUTS of these games.
---
Are you new to CURLINGGOAT? I envy you if so. Here's the basics (I won't paste dumbass long rules, just gonna tell you what you need to know)
- A team of world class athletes set up on the ice dressed to the nines repping their land
- They all have a bunch of 'stones' that are pucks they haul down the ice with the precision of World War snipers
- They kneel and place the stone while gliding like ballerinas then release the stone before the HOG LINE
- When player releases the stone, his teammates slide down the ice parallel to the stone on either side with the grace of goddamn angels manipulating the ice to get the stone where it needs to go
- There are circles on the other end they want to deliver the stones in to. The most center circle is the TEE
- Teams wanna get their stones as close to the tee as possible, and the other team is trying to knock their **** out and get theirs closer, so whoever goes last has an inherent advantage. This is called THE HAMMER and you want that son
- Each team has a boss called the SKIPPER who calls the shots. SKIPPERS are some of the best athletes on the planet.
I'm guessing you're at half chub by now, so what makes CURLING on 2P2 so great. Let me introduce you to some LEGENDS OF THE SPORT:
Also, the Canadians appear quite good but I'll let someone else give that preview justice
