My only issue with this article is that the rankings aren't scientific in themselves, just ordered by someone who is familiar with political science concepts and theories. Would be cool if there was a way to do that, but probably impossible as political theory isn't a mathematical endeavor most of the time. Plus quantifying fantasy worlds seems impossible. Awesome read though.

quick end of season takes:

- It's been mentioned ITT before, but the show would have been ten times better if white walkers and zombie armies had never existed.

- Team Cersei > Team zombie apocalypse > Team Jon/Dany. Jon and Dany completely suck and have been failing as actors for years now. I look forward to Dany telling Jon that she's preggo and watching Kit Harington look constipated.

- The 'OMG LOL SAVAGE' meme banter is terrible. It's very clearly designed to be taken out and used in gifs and memes and twitter replies and obviously it works because people are dumb so expect more 'ahahaha he said cock! RIP my sides!!' type nonsense.

- Tyrion/Cersei was a legit great scene, and Jaime/Cersei was quite good, but unfortunately this only emphasised how much the other scenes were not good and the other acting was not good.

I think it's bc the White Walkers have been underplayed on the show. one of the overarching themes of the series is the threat is not real to all the Southron folk, but they spend all this time destroying each other while the demons from the North are about to come knocking. this has come through in bits and pieces but not enough.

Agree 100%. The opening scene of S1.1 was very cool.

Moreover, the unknown in a show about political intrigue and gamesmanship is very compelling. Like the Whitewalkers' identity, the human characters' motivations, which have been laid bare and removed of mystery and intrigue, are basically all solved at this point. There is little room for most anyone to do anything unexpected: the characters, outside of Tyrion and Jaime, are flat.

Is there an explanation for why littlefinger didn't get some sort of trial? She asked how he plead and he said not guilty and she just killed him anyway. Seems like there should've been some jury or something, otherwise why even ask him?

this is def a minor nitpick but I havent seen anyone say it yet so, Jone was all "we can kill them with 1. FIRE, 2. DRAGONGLASS",..........no mention anywhere of 3. VALYRIAN STEEL. Obv rare but the lannisters have some of that. Seems worth mentioning. Maybe everybody already assumes valyrian steel's the goat that could kill anything, but it's proved more powerful than fire when it comes to killing white walkers. Jaime's literally wearing it at that moment.

I'm not sure that Valyrian Steel kills wights (although it obviously does kill White Walkers). I think its only dragonglass that kills both wights and White Walkers. When Jon is fighting the wights, his sword doesn't seem to do any more damage than a regular sword.
