is there a reason why it cut to bran at the tree before the wall thing? They could have just cut straight to the wall. Is it going to become "bran was controlling the night king" in future seasons? adding weight to hes the NK. or is that dumbdumb? and hes certainly flying now

That's dumb. It was just a way to transition.

i just wish the night king and cersei could both win. at least they dont waste our time with the dumbest ideas and completely useless story arcs.

So basically if Danny never crosses over the ocean to become queen all of Westeros would be safe because the Night King can't get across the wall?

Pretty hard to pick sides for the final battle. You have team incest on the one side and team incest on the other...tough choices for a good and moral lad like myself.
Guess the Night King is the most civilized choice?

LF death was dumb but I guess if chaos is a ladder and the wall crumbles down you don't really need that ladder anymore.

I was kind of hoping for the Bran is evil theory to strike and for Bran to ask Sam
"So you're the only one who knows this?"
"No Gilly also knows"
"Very well then..."
cut to wall crumbling scene

But that entire interaction was just dumb given the supposed omniscience of the raven. Rest of the episode minus the redemption arc for Theon was actually good and fun to watch. Even the negotiations were better than expected.

The implication of the Sam and Bran scene is that Bran CAN see everything but that doesn't mean he HAS seen everything. He was able to go see the wedding on command once he was aware of it. That makes sense; the entire history of Westeros is huge and would be tough for him to see one scene at a time

yeah that part made sense to me

i'm just surprised sam could instantly recall all the information in perfect detail when at the time he was listening as if gilly was telling him not to leave socks on the floor

The problem with this theory is that how would he know the "Chaos is a ladder" quote from LF. That was a random conversation between LF and Varys in KLs, no way Bran would know to go to that point at that time to hear the conversation.

LF seems like a guy worthy of some investigation if I could look into anyone's past. he could have found anything he said but happened to use that moment and that line (and yes amazing coincidence it was perfect)

Bran was warged into one of the crows and witnessed the MAYHEM.

He obv talked to her about it on his trip to winterfell since they spent days together without a thing to do and the book was there.

put that in the when coaches do something stupid draft
There's a fan theory floating around that Tyrion's stupidity this season, at least since Jon arrived on Dragonstone, is actually a deliberate attempt to get Jon killed because Tyrion is actually in love with Dany. It's further supported by the fact that Tyrion is the one who advised Dany to send Jorah away after noting Jorah's love for Dany (this was pretty much the first time Tyrion even advised her on anything) and also Tyrion was instrumental in ensuring Daario got left behind in Meereen. Then Tyrion tried to talk Dany out of rescuing the seal team. All of that + Tyrion creeping around her cabin while she was ****ing Jon make a compelling case.

why did tyrion advise to invite him down in the first place though? he could have just left him up in the north

Apparently he was transcribing while she was reading, at least I took Sam to be explaining that to the audience who pointed out that he clearly wasn't listening to Gilly at the time.

He didn't know they'd wind up shacking up, maybe? Anyway Tyrion was creepin at that door for a reason and that's as good a reason as any I suppose. Outside shot that Cersei let Tyrion go because he's gonna betray Dany but I think that's less likely, because there was no reason to keep that information from Jaime.

Maybe Tyrion fills the Littlefinger void for the final season

What was the point of Cersei lying about helping them if she just lets Jamie go right after them?

What was the point of her lying about helping at all? Like if she had just left it as what she said after the first meeting, they weren't going to burn Kings Landing anyways right?
SETV >>>> OOTV: WOAT >>>> GOT Quote

shes kept everything from jamie though (euron's ploy for example)

i'm guessing the point of lying is that now team targaryen is a lot more vulnerable when otherwise they would have stayed on alert for cersei.

seems likely to me that cersei and tyrion are conspiring

i dont know why she let jamie go since now he can just tell everyone what shes doing

Yeah I'd like to know where Jaime even thinks he's going? I assume Dany left a garrison at Casterly Rock. Riverrun? It may or may not even still be occupied. The Freys are all dead or mostly dead. Maybe he'll go buddy up with Edmure and they'll have some wacky adventures together or something.

So we needed him around for seven seasons? They could have come up with an actual reason for him to exist beyond season 1 or just offed him in like season 3.

Writers had no clue what do with LF and just randomly ended him when they couldn't figure out a way to make his existence meaningful to the larger story.

I think we're supposed to think that it only clicked with the extra information Bran gave him about the tower...like "wait a second that tower with Jon....that's the wedding I didn't care about because I didn't have this extra info"

After the death and lolbad writing of the character of LF I'm predicting Varys will slip on a banana peel and break his neck as the opening scene of the last season.

as far as i remember the last we knew the unsullied were trapped at casterly rock with no resources while eurons fleet had them surrounded and destroyed their ships

did euron get word from cersei that this meeting was a go, then just stop and yell out "hey everyone we need to get to kings landings now, i'll give yall a lift"

I think you're all correct. LF was a major plot driver early in the series. But once the Vale armies helped Jon win the BoB, LF was no longer needed either in Winterfell or as a character in general. There was nowhere else for him to go, no real path to victory for him personally because of the Night King. They knew they had to get rid of him and decided to do the fans a service by killing him off the way they did.

No, he didn't get the info that way, the thing she's reading is something he had already transcribed. Her reading that is just info for the viewer, not Sam
