surprised there's not been even more hate for the opening scene with jaime coming out of the water. it was pretty clearly many hours later if not the next day, and he emerges from the river coughing up a bunch of water as if he was submerged the entire time.

just your standard wash down the river away from the onslaught while not drowning in full armor

Seems windy and cold. Not sure how much dragons enjoy that. There's probably some sick magic the WW could wield but by and large I think fly dragons places and win is a strategy worth trying.

I call it the "Dracarys mother****er" play.

This tilts me very hard. John has to move from Winterfell to Danny first then back to the wall than back to KL with the captive (not to mention wandering beyound the wall to catch someone). How long does that take assuming the fastest possible route? Forever...what could other factions in the war do in that time? A lot. Seriously someone math out how long that journey from Jon leaves to ask for dragonglass until dropping off a captive at Cercei would take.

Then as you said it takes the WW forever (seasons!) to march a relatively small distance.

Edit: I risked googling and it's 1k leagues from King's landing to The Wall. That is like 5.6k km (about 3450 miles). There's also these two maps overlaying the US/Europe over GoT land...

I think the note was the one Cersei forced Sansa to write saying that Ned committed treason trying to steal the throne and asking Robb to go to kings landing and bend the knee. Robb read it in season 1 in the scene where he ended up calling the banners to go down to kings landing with an army.
