No, the explanation is it would make for super boring TV if it took people 3 seasons to build ships and 4 episodes to go from point A to point B. I mean, how did Jon show up in Dragonstone so fast. He had just left and next thing we know he is there and nothing else has happened to any of the characters!

Also, we don't know that he had to build these from scratch. They had some ships to start so maybe they only built a few or even none.

I hope next episode is 60 minutes of watching the unsullied walk back towards dragonstone with nothing happening. That way I can be sure to know how they get back to Dany.

i want to see dany turn on jon with the dragons and jon just chills in the fire proving hes a targaryean. then hes just like "looks like im the real king bitchbye"

- Ricky plays craps for like 20 minutes
- Chris Carter is around for some reason
- the Cowboys DT guy gets a weed-related sponsorship deal, which makes everyone NERVOUS
- and in the main event, THE ROCK tries to bring the NFL to Las Vegas

No, obviously not. You can have things be EXCITING and MAKE SENSE. It was the writers choice to throw in the line about 1,000 ships. They could have chosen a completely different path, like Euron already having his needed fleet! or introduced this storyline last season. or any other direction.

(yeah I'll be that guy and mention that in the books the entire Iron Fleet was 100 ships total)

sounded like they were building ships from scratch in his big speech. he was all "men go cut down trees, women sew sails and ****, cause we need 1000 GOAT ships by like next episode, k? #MIIGA"

I mean, the whole sequence is pretty lol:

- Theon and Yara steal a whole bunch of ships to take to Dany
- Euron builds 1,000 ships bc Theon and Yara just stole all those ships
- Dany uses the Theon/Yara ships to sail to Dragonstone
- Euron destroys all the Theon/Yara ships and captures them

Why not just have Theon and Yara run away with one ship bc they are mad they lost the Kingsmoot, have Dany use ships from the 900 cities and slavers she just dragon'd over, and that way Euron doesn't need to magically build 1,000 ships and has a navy that isn't staffed by the leftover Iron Islanders?

as for GoT, along with maybe thinking that KL still had gold, guessing Tyrion didn't consider that Cersei would abandon it out of pride or whatever. i don't think Tywin would have. anyway, that was pretty clever.

pretty clear that Euron doesn't mean "go get me a thousand ships out of storage" or "build me a grand total of a thousand ships EXCLUDING the exact amount of ships that Theon just stole, if anyone has that count feel free to subtract that number from the grand total of a thousand ships, bc that is the real target number I'm concerned about here"

why are we assuming westeros uses a base ten number system? if they use quinary then he's only asking for 125 ships!

Davos was pretty great this episode. Found the Cersei killing some random sand snake daughter drama drawn out and silly.
