This is absolutely false. A large scale power outage would be an absolute disaster (and is classified as such by emergency services in pretty much every country). Your food would spoil, your water supply would be gone, your monetary system would collapse, no more gas (or traffic lights, trains, airplanes etc.), no communication, total breakdown of hospitals etc. etc. the list goes on.
The typical projections I know for when looting and rioting would start is around day 3.

[note: I do academic research on crisis related stuff, specifically power outages, pandemics, bio-threats, natural disasters and terrorism for a living]

I think that actor was great. I think they did a good job of sprinkling in touching moments and places you felt empathy for Danny. There were some stretches where he was on good behavior and working hard at the inn. Then obv he falls off the rails.

In season 2 everyone is so screwed up you almost start feeling like he is the good one on the family. Anyway overall it's A +++++.
