Breaking Bad is a cool show but you can't have as many just flat-out annoying characters (Skylar, Marie, Hank) or characters who add nothing to the show (the disabled son) and be considered the greatest show of all time or anywhere near it.

Is there a single scene primarily involving those characters that can be cited as an example of what makes the show good?

I know the vast majority of tv shows absolutely suck, but I just don't see how people can view BB as anything better than the best show on right now.

Comparing The Wire to Breaking Bad is like comparing The Godfather to Analyze This.

once again, bb has to sit there and describe a scene even though 95% of the audience should get it (saul and old yeller in the car)

anyone who thinks s5 of bb is comparable to the rest is flat out wrong. s4 ending could of went down as goat ending but they bit the bullet and wanted more money. half of these characters no one cares about, meanwhile a show like the wire had you upset when dukie would get beat up or the car scene with michael.

****ing skyler going from all loving family to ****ing ted to caring about the family to shocked about drugs to wanting to help cover it up to wanting to quit to wanting to go back into laundering to wanting no one to die to wanting jesse killed. christ what a trainwreck of a character

I don't have any issue with his acting, the character just sucks. He's neither interesting/entertaining nor is he remotely believable as a DEA agent.

I actually like Skinny Pete and Badger because they fit into what IMO BB was at its best: a dramatic get-rich-quick-porn that didn't take itself too seriously.

**** this show brought a storyline in s1 into play (marie being a kleptomaniac) only to drop it for no reason, to bring it back up in the worst way possible to move the story along further (cop buddy bringing gale's notes to hank since he helped out marie) THATS how you decide to move the main plot further?

Complaining about the acting of a guy who got about 3 minutes of spoken lines in 5 seasons seems like a waste of time.

I mean S4 finale was cool and all, but the whole show has been building up to Hank vs Walt. You couldn't end the series without Hank finally figuring it out.

some of you guys think i'm saying bb is the woat. it's still an enjoyable show, i'm still going to finish it. gus killing victor was a phenomenal scene, when skyler told walt that she was ****ing ted was a great scene, the show has great moments and is much much better than the average show. but i don't agree it should be called goat like some of you guys. i think it's just recency bias that makes you go with that. i bet some of you guys were calling LOST the goat as it was airing, only now to say it's no where close

major travesty. but the wire wasnt popular while it was still on the air, even tho it was pretty clearly the goat tv show/series.

they should receive some retroactive awards for ppl catching on way late and realizing how great it was/is.
