Oh, I think a little snark is fair when someone says he's actually
rooting for them. I mean, what exactly do we know about the White Walkers, and what have we seen them doing? I mean, objectively? I don't think we've gotten much of a sense of their rich internal lives, either. It's an interesting perspective insofar that you can make an argument for it if you think the humans in Westeros really,
really suck, but that would be kind of a snarky position, too. I mean, just the fact that "pure evil" is still in play suggests a deliberately one-dimensional portrait.
I mean, perhaps in some grander cosmic sense there is no objective evil, but from the perspective of a human anywhere in that universe, I don't think there's much moral ambiguity about it. I mean, the humans built a giant magical wall to keep themselves safe from them. As long as this story is told from the humans' perspective, the White Walkers seem to be about as "evil", or at least destructive, as can be.
