Apparently the author is sick and may not even finish the books. He is already writing 1book/6years. He told the producers of the show how he plans to end it so if he dies the story can at least be finished on HBO if not in print.

Those saying the 5th book was bad, I would disagree I think it was a big step up from 4. Won't spoil to explain myself though.
He's obviously not saying every single book reader is like that since he quoted my post agreeing with it.

I started reading the books because I was so hooked on the show that I didn't want to wait a whole year to know what happens next. But the show will pass the books very soon, most likely next season.

Just wrapped up ep 7 of season 3 last night. It's been a while since I've watched anything that made me feel actual hate for one of the characters, but this show certainly does (which is how I know it's awesome). That ****ing Joffrey, man, he's just not my kind of guy.

Another sign of its greatness imo

Spoiler:
I actually felt sorry for that sister-****ing child killer Jaime when they cut off his hand.

Jaimie never killed a child IMO

To expand on that point, the screenplay (maybe the books too?) does a great job of making just about every character* either beloved or loathsome to the viewer at various points in the series, which is also part of the greatness of shows like The Wire and The Sopranos.

Spoiler:
Except that little ****er Joffrey

The people who prefer reading books are the same people who resist changes for the better

its honestly kind of incredible how big an ******* reading those books makes most ppl become.
I can taste the sweet, salty tears of irony

Yeah this is me, I have no doubt in my mind that the tv versions of the last two books will be > the books themselves. I read the first 4 books in 3 months and it took me 8 months of forcing myself to read a couple chapters at a time to read A Dance With Dragons.

I will make fun of them all day.

Books have ruined the world. See the Quran, Torah, and Bible.

DONT WRITE **** DOWN

That stuff gets passed on to the plebians and all hell breaks loose.

Also, we learn better through YouTube and online sources.

**** books.

Not sure what level the anti-reading crowd is on--Ima guess TWO--but if you don't read books you're a peasant plain and simple.

Joe Rogan clearly explains that books are a waste of time and used by the govt to cover up big foot.
