^ Probably the most I've looked forward to a movie in a decade.

Best show I've seen in a while: Pen15. It's hilarious and a bit weird. Highly recommend - Hulu show.

Literally nothing happened that we didn’t know already in the last ep that aired two years ago.

Knew it was gonna be a huge filler ep that is completely useless and it still rustled me hardcore.

Just make the season 5 episodes

Put me in the minority but even the nothing happens episodes are elite. Show is awesome

Kid burning on the wall was a great visual. Liked the episode quite a bit.

Very much enjoyed it, thought it was a good episode. Really liked the Arya/Jon reunion.

Feel like there will be plenty of huge battles and fast action in this season, nice to have at least one episode in the final season that had normal GoT pacing.

It was okay, they got everything put in place, just always expecting more when it's the last season and it's abbreviated like this, I'll let it play out.

Spoiler:
The look on Jon's face when he found out he's been porking his sister was great

Yeah, it was good just mainly because the show is back on. Otherwise standard season opener, just catches you up on the whereabouts of every major character. Only relevant thing was Sam telling Jon.

Obviously Jaime shoved Bran and is shocked he's alive? Is there any other sort of significance to the stare at the end? Kind of forgotten if there is.

Interesting thing came to mind just now: Cersei was having what looked like wine in this episode, while she didn't when she was alone w/ Tyrion, and she claimed she was pregnant then. So she either gave the baby the "morning after being with Robert" treatment after Jaime abandoned her, or it never existed. My money is on never existed.

Makes that utter roasting Sansa gave him feel even better.

It is known that you shouldn’t drink wine when you’re pregnant in the time of GoT? They also ignored the fact that you shouldn’t have children with your siblings.

ya didn't think they'd waste that much time, but had to get all of the hellos outta the way i guess

only really got to business at the end with the burnt umber kid & Jamie/Bran staredown

Dany not just also mentioning the brother when talking to Sam was pretty weird

that's such a weird trope that manages to persist somehow

Sam: oh well it's all good, at least my brother, WHO I ACTUALLY LIKE, is lord now
Dany: oh, Rickon?
Sam: erm, Dickon
Dany: BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Sam: ...
Dany: oh excuse me, i'm sorry, yeah he's totally extra crispy now too, thoughts+prayers
Sam: yeah, well, that jerkstore called, and they're running out of you!
Dany: what!?
Sam: i'm sorry, so sorry ... i mean ... Jon is your nephew, suck on that!

Thought the writing was trash and the episode weak. What, exactly, did people like?

*i do think the little umber boy hanging on the wall and rezzing or whatever was creepy and cool. But the 10 minute dragon ride for no reason? In the past i never used to get up from a GoT episode but i walked away, made food, was like, whatever.

Thought they couldve handled some of the reunions better, too.

Frankly someone said this years ago and it is so true, but the show would be so much better if there werent any dragons in it. Imo theres a high correlation between time devoted to the ****ing dragons and how good of an episode it is.

Definitely trash writing though it had a lot of funny lines - intentional or otherwise.

“Because I have balls and you don’t”

“It has its moments” when Sansa was talking about Joffery’s wedding

“I’ve always had blue eyes”

“Whatever they want” - this line and delivery was cringeworthy.

I still had hopes for a GRRM-like twist during this final season, but episode 1 being filler and setup really hurt those chances. Agree that the dragon ride was dumb - the animation kept taking me out of the moment, so it's not like it was even beautiful breathtaking CGI it was just a waste of time.

Shrug. 5 more

The scenes with Jon & Dany together are so garbage. Still firmly on Team Night King
SETV >>>> OOTV: WOAT >>>> GOT Quote

Jon needs to know how to ride a dragon for battle with NK, since its certainly plausible that Dany quits helping them if all the Northerners rally behind only Jon, or that Jon eventually chooses family and the North over Dany/someone goes the murder route as Dany is in the way of any progress/unification.

A lot of people have a reason to kill Dany at the moment, and most of them are in Winterfell and could make it happen.

it was good they dedicated so much time to that scene. he never would have figured out "just hold on to anything" on his own

All of it was pure trash. The writing just cringy. Think showing Jon how to ride a dragon in a non threatening scenario sucks...I know we all knew he could ride one...but still make it on a battle when it's like "I need this" ... Not to bang some chick on ice.

Acting just felt force all over the place. But maybe that's because they got such a short time

All they need to do now is 2v1 the ice dragon and they kill the dragon and night king at once. Will be some stupid drama now though which sucks as Jon can fly already
