It's learning the most complex board game in the world in real time. As it said in the show the amount of permutations in a game of Go is unreal, and it was thinking 60+ moves ahead. It dominated the best human player in a 2500 year old game in less than two years after the project started. That's not amazing to you?

I think it was a sense of pride, both among Go players and Koreans, he seemed to be a national hero. People tend to be shocked when new tech comes along and does something better than we can do
