American Vandal looks pretty promising. The kids playing the filmmakers have the perfect, super annoying mannerisms of kids trying to act like the adults they've seen on TV solving crimes.

Started watching Dark Matter. 3 episodes into S1, still not sure how I feel about it. Seems rather cookie-cutter, as far as the characters and plots go. Should I continue?

I'm with you in that I keep asking how long it can last. But tonight's episode was again excellent.

Yup, still elite. 'I'm too young to die, and too old to eat off the kids menu. What a stupid age I am!' is a thought I've had many times

At first I didn't think I'd watch it but I gave it a shot and am now almost finished. It's...okay. Some laughs but overall it's kinda meh without being outright bad.

Hello Friends,

Recently I have been turned on to this thread. I would like to share a post I recently made in the Other Other Topic's sub-community, Other Other Topic's Television.

Quote:
Hello Friends,

Recently I have been watching one of my favorite shows from the 00's decade, The L Word. For those of you that may not have heard of The L Word, The L Word was a show focusing on the lives of a group of lesbians. This was a groundbreaking series, because when the show premiered in 2004, there was very few shows that focused on LGBT characters. Sure there was an minor LGBT character here or there, and maybe even the occasional major character, like Ellen, but 2004, the middle of the George Bush Presidency, was a time where LGBT characters were hidden from the Television viewing audience.

The L Word sought to change this. In fact, many people were probably introduced to Gay and Lesbian people because of this show. There was a few erotic scenes that was probably ridiculous, but for it's time it was a trailblazing show.

That brings me to my point today. There was a moment in the show, in which a major character has breast cancer. At the same time, another character is transitioning from female to male. Ironically, both characters are going through similar surgeries and medical procedures. It is obvious that the character with cancer does not think much about the character transitioning. This is evident when the transitioning character mentions that it's a life or death situation for him as well as her.

Later, the cancer stricken character beings to realize what he meant by that. Up until that point, the core group of characters, who are mostly lesbians, was kinda freaked out about this character transitioning. But that this moment, the cancer stricken character began to realize what it's like being a transexual.

Remember, this was from 2006. Since then the LGB community has grown to accept transexuals into their own. Now it is LGBT.

This is a story that gives me hope, that one day, we can all be apart of the same community.

-O

I'm only on ep3, but I can kind of see what you're saying already. I like the casting and the performances so far, everyone is so ****ing irritating. Probably says something that the character I like the best is the main screwup Bro who got expelled.

I had to watch ep2 of Vice Principals again, it was that good. "Oh she's laughing, yeah she's laughing" in the teachers' lounge and the kid with the "Did you do a poop poop Pop?" to the old guy oh man.

Agree re: Good Place. I really liked the pace and what they did with E2. With what they did at the end, there are so many directions they could go. It could stay excellent for a long time with the new storyline.

I spoke too soon about American Vandal. I had to quit because I simply cannot stand the filmmaker characters now.

Something happened with my DVR so I only got half of Curb, retaped it last night so I'll finish it tonight. The first half was great. It is kind of startling to see how much older everyone is now. It's hard to imagine Richard Lewis and Larry David in their 70s but here we are.

Vice Principals is so mean this year, liking it. The high school kid on it is the MVP of this TV year so far.
