this is a pretty close race but I decided to go with only nominee from each team. I know I'm going to get a lot of hate for not including Tannehill in the poll but I think Matt Moore has looked better in relief and we all know how silly that would be.
The nominees:
from the New York Jets, we've got Mark Sanchez. The longest run of any non-Brady AFC East QB, it's hard to argue with this guy's success. People will always remember his valiant effort in the 2011 AFC championship
from the Buffalo Bills, Drew Bledsoe. people forget that Drew was not only a Patriot, he was also a multi-year starter for the Bills. Yes, he was eventually replaced by JP Losman, but it would suit us well to remember that this guy was often the only person standing in the way of those early 2000s Patriot teams.
and from the Miami Dolphins, Chad Pennington. You didn't think we were going to forget about Chad, did you? he might not have been as good as Mark Sanchez, but he still is able to top the list of another AFC East squad. I actually have fond memories of late-career Chad Pennington. one of the slowest moving footballs in NFL history. Reasonably accurate, too.
I know 16 years is a lot of AFC East QBs, but I really tried to narrow it down to the best three. so, who is it? Who holds the (silver) crown in the AFC East? Which quarterback do we owe the most thanks to for doing their part to keep the Patriots at bay? who do we thank for constantly challenging Tom Brady and Bill Belichick and ensuring that they don't get first round byes and 2nd round games vs. Brock Osweiler every January?
