PBAL holds the record for longest pickup delay, which ended up being something like 2 months, long enough that the entire gift was returned to the store and then lost so that no one got it and I spent like $60 plus shipping only to get owned

That posture thing is legit in my experience. I was a horrible slouch as a kid until I broke my collarbone and had to wear one of those for like 6 weeks. Once I healed up my posture was perfect from then until now.

I need to sincerely apologize to SE and SE SS in particular. Since about Thanksgiving my drinking has been out of control. I am doing much, much, so much better now and not drinking at all (for about a week now) but I am staying at my parents’ house about an hour and a half south of POR for a while drying out, exercising, cleaning myself up, generally fixing myself. They (parents) insisted it would be a good idea I stay at least until after Jan 1 and I agreed. After I get back to Portland I will be attending meetings. Needless to say I’m never drinking again, this last month was not cool and scared me.

My unopened presents are in fact still up at my Portland place and I will reveal next week when I’m back. Again, I’m OK and actually feel healthy now, but no more evil booze for me (even beer).

I sincerely appreciate the concerns and am grateful for this community. Oh and that, um, enabling woman’s gone forever (no I did not kill her).

Enjoy the hell out of drinking if you can do it responsibly, I can’t

I’d been boozing way too much and needed time to clean up and become a person again

There is absolutely no shame in asking for help if you realize you have a problem

Feel free to PM me if you yourself think you might be hitting it too hard and would like advice from a recovering drunk

Sounds like you avoided a potentially much worse situation osis. A 1 month bender isn't nothing, but your self awareness in the matter and supportive parents sounds great.

My own alcohol intake has dropped about 99.99% over the last few years. Just smoke weed MANNNNN.
