So, as I usually do, I forgot SANTA was about to deliver pain and immense suffering to my household.

I received a small bright pink package. I did not remember ordering anything. It did not cross my mind that I should hold off on opening this package instead of opening it with my fiancee as we walked to our condo from the mailbox.

As may or may not be entirely obvious, (1) I hate Donald Trump and everything he and his family and his administration and his political party stand for, (2) if you think I hate the sniveling, worthless man and his useless compatriots, you should get a load of what my fiancee thinks of them, (3) my fiancee spent part of her childhood growing up in Durango, Mexico and is a beloved member of an awesome and proud Mexican family, and (4) we are expecting a son in June.

So, what I am saying is, nice work.

In other news, I also received a very interesting musical instrument!



It is a Zelda-themed musical instrument that makes only unpleasant noises. I have no idea what the little porcelain hand is for. The accompanying literature doesn't explain it, either.

The carrying case is a nice touch. As soon as I figure out how to play the newest Cardi jam on it, I'll post the video. It may be a while, as the ergonomics of the ocarina leave something to be desired . . .
