I once woke to find myself in a Vancouver ER which was confusing since my last memory had me in Whistler.

It's funny how people from outside of the US always hate on American beer when we have amazing beer.

My bad, the only beer made in the US is made by Miller, Coors, or Budweiser.

Ignorance is bliss huh?

MGD is the only big label American beer I really enjoy. Old Milwaukee Ice is used for post-exam stress relief.

Leinenkugel's ftw. Loved their honey lager when I was down in Milwaukee last summer.

Am I expected to know a gagillion different American microbreweries?

I don't doubt that there are some fantastic American gems that, for obvious reasons, I haven't been able to drink. If, however, we're gonna talk about beers for the masses though, it's not really a contest.

I also forgot to add that I enjoy Old Style when I'm visiting the family in Chicago.

I live in NJ, if a beer from California is in all the beer stores near me is that not a beer for the masses? That is just an arbitrary line you are creating.

There are only a couple Canadian beers "for the masses" down here, does that mean they are the only beers that count when arguing who makes better beer?

Which ones are they, btw?

I know what you're getting at. Maybe a good way to balance this out is that you'd put the Canadian beers available in American stores against the American beers available in Canadian stores. I dunno, sound about right?

But what would that have to do with my comment that the US makes awesome beer?

I never said Bud, Miller, and Coors are good. The US having amazing beer and those beers sucking are not mutually exclusive.

The point is that people from outside the US constantly make fun of our beer, when they haven't had any of the good stuff.

Well said.

You guys really, really need Keith's down there though. That's the tip of the iceberg. Our good stuff makes the stuff you guys have access to look like warm Colt 45. Which, btw, has its merits every so often.
