The FBI already knew what Hillary's email address was so redacting it in no way, shape or form hid information. Btw, where do you and Donald Trump hangout to discuss your conspiracy theories? Is it like a weekly thing or just monthly?

AFAIK smtp doesn't let you obfuscate your email address so the notion that Hilary was going to send out emails without the recipients knowing her email address is nonsensical.

The way I am reading it is that they wanted to be able to turn over the entire collection of email addresses with something like "Hillary Clinton" as the name instead of "hillary@clintonemail.com".

They probably assumed there may be a leak of the information they are turning over, and given Hillary's general aptitude for technology, changing her email address was probably something they REALLY didn't want to have to do.

Seems more like "We're going to give them my emails. Can you stop them from publishing my email address?"

The only reasonable gotcha to be had in the newest HRC e-mail thing is:

How dumb - flat out dumb - do you look when your tech team, which is supposed to be an ace highest security team, with you simultaneously under investigation, publicly posts to Reddit about changing data (even if it's for a perfectly good reason) relevant to the investigation?

You look so, so dumb. You look even more like e-mail is really hard for you and your crack staff of wonks that no one trusts anyway. It looks, for all the world, like you and your team are simply bad at e-mail and, by extension, basically bad at standard life.

And yes I know Donald Trump is categorically worse at technology. But no one cares. I don't make the rules, that's just how this election works. It's not even relevant to this critique that the same complaints can be made about him. So what? His voters don't care, it's endearing. Potential HRC voters, though, judge her harshly.
