College-educated white men still going for Trump.

But the total of both of those groups may be net-Clinton.
That is correct. A majority of college educated white men and a majority of comfortable (money wise) white men feel that the country is being taken from them and needs to be taken back.

Yeah, I forgot about it too.

We can run it back on an NFL game if you want or you can PP me. Either works.

Does it tho for the comfortable white men? That's just a wing of the GOP/Romney base and has been for years.

I think they're just going for Trump over Hillary because they despise her and want less taxes.

Being scared ****less about ISIS or BLM or that gays are populating ABC shows is probably not their motivation as much as people think.

However, I expect HRC to do better with this group than Obama did in 2012, based on the fact that a lot of them see Trump as crazy and/or disruptive and if you're making 230k a year, house and investment valuations are at all time highs, yeah you might not like HRC but you aren't trying to deal with the Trump tsunami in your prime earning years.

@onlydo2days They think not-thems get more opportunities and handouts and special considerations

I definitely didn't mean you had to be earning even 100k to be at the bottom of comfortable

I meant like, you make your mortgage payments

I googled hoping it was real. Sadly doesn't seem to be. Seems pretty likely we could be requoting Nath as Nostradamus in 6 months.

The Republican nominee for president just offhand suggested assassinating the Democratic nominee.

Good ****ing lord, every time that I think it could not possibly get any worse, Trump trumps himself

Chiefsplanet is convinced that Hillary really is coming for their guns. Only the heroic alarm sounding of Sean Hannity saved them from Obama stealing all the guns. But Hillary is much more craft and cunning, that one.

This has been mentioned as the end game previously during the primaries.

Shocking number of people buy the "Media desperate to distract from Clinton's anti-2A stance. I said pro-2A citizens must organize and get out vote to save our Constitution!" excuse even though he was clearly talking about helplessness and inability to stop her after she was elected, not before.

It's not shocking at all

We all know people are entrenched in their beliefs and that facts counter to them usually entrench things further

And we all know how effective word games are in politics

Was talking with Slack today and wondering where they were getting some info that seemed suspect to me

Finally they quoted the title of an article that was a clear hit piece click bait disingenuous piece of **** that was instantly debunked

Didn't matter, it's out there and it said what they wanted to hear. That's how people work. Why would they listen to what they don't want to hear. I'm not sure it was even in earshot of where they chose to be. It's a miracle we feed ourselves

I've been buried in work but I think it absolutely critical to point out, again, the basic fallacy that has swallowed journalism nearly whole, causing great damage to our country and to reason in contemporary life.

Opposing viewpoints and opposing narratives are not necessarily equivalently credible. The fallacy of equivalency of opposing viewpoints causes media coverage of events such as this - one side correctly points out a fairly obvious insinuation of and/or reference to incitement of assassination or armed rebellion following the repetitive claims to illegitimacy of the electoral process (the election is "rigged" against Trump), the other transparently lies and cynically says this is merely a call to conservatives to fulfill the patriotic duty to vote - to treat each stance equivalently. The job of determining the credibility of the two stances is left to the reader / viewer.

This process blesses the lesser viewpoint with the imprimatur of credibility by the professional standards of the profession of journalism. Once that happens, it doesn't even matter if the lesser viewpoint can later be demonstrated to be an absurdity. The work has already been accomplished.

The game of politics is to a large degree the game of taking advantage of this false equivalency in order to bless unsupportable political positions / statements / strategies with what I will now term "American Credibility™." Once some idiot position has American Credibility™ the ensuing battle is a red herring.

Note that this is a DIFFERENT POINT than saying people understand this stuff to be 50/50 - I'm not saying that. In fact, Trump isn't THAT good at this - he takes positions so bad that his polling has plummeted disastrously even though he still enjoys the unintentionally legitimizing collusion of basically the entire media.

In any case, I'm merely saying the process of the media legitimizing basically anything Trump has ever said, for example, is the tail that wags political discourse in America. Keep this in mind when parsing polls, media coverage, etc.
