He doesn't go in for accuracy, being right, facts, or paying attention to electoral demographics.

He probably wouldn't have the patience to read it.

Your total lack of comprehension of literally anything and proudly ignorant wokeness would work for him, though.

Am I wrong in that Bill Clinton did fairly well with these people in part just by showing that he cared and being the legit GOAT bull****ter?

Showing that you care and that you respect people even when you disagree and offering some solutions (i kinda hate the protectionism and the 'get the government out of my medicare' sentiment is infuriating, but you should try something) might get more votes, But it's not just that. It's also that everyone has value and you should never just write people off. Expressions like 'white trash' are just horrible things to say about people.

I'm tired of beating this drum, but Trump's supporters ARE NOT poor people with no economic opportunities. Clinton crushes him by 30 points among those with household income under $30k.

http://www.people-press.org/2016/07/...n-preferences/

Mitt ****ing Romney did better with poor people!

Far more important, Clinton wins the young, and Trump wins old people. Old people have no financial insecurities over ****ing NAFTA, the loss of manufacturing doesn't matter to a 68 year old. But them goddamn ragheads moving in and doing all the terrorism, well, my god.

So that's Trump's base, stupid easily scared old middle class uneducated AM listeners and the younger more aspergersy sorts who share that world view.

Rural whites do not deserve to be pandered to by anyone. They believe abhorrent ****. They are disdainful of people who really do want to help them, because they would rather be racist than educated. They are ignorant, racist, bigoted dumb ****s and claiming they are "real" Americans is a disgrace to the history of this country. Boston, NYC, SF, LA and dozens of other cities are filled with brilliant, vibrant people of all colors. This is America. Not a bunch of *******s drinking natty lite, watching nascar, casually insulting minorities and fapping to Mark Levin.

Obama saying republicans should withdraw their endorsement is a true study in genius sadism. Why doesn't he just tell them to not drink the yellow snow while he's at it?

I mean, yeah, but KB4Z isn't totally out of left field here.

It's bad for everyone as a society if a large portion of it continues to feel isolated and mocked, even if they're doing it to themselves.

No idea what the solution is, but waiting for them to die off isn't really viable. We'll need some way to culturally shift, likely slower than anyone would like, that group towards education.

On the positive side, religion is on the decline in America, trending towards fewer religious people and more non-religious by about 6.9% from 2007 to 2014.

On the downside, it's not like those people letting go of religion are poor whites. Most studies show a consistant rate of belief among the poor and a decreasing amount of belief among the more affluent, which isn't really a shock.

To oversimplify and paraphrase the Prez, as long as they have very little, they're going to latch on to guns and religion.

Yeah I mean mocking people bc they are so inferior to you is fun and all until they start blowing up people like you and me bc they feel so marginalized then you start to figure out a solution and then it's even harder to solve.

So laugh it up while you can? But this is not a problem that is just going to extinguish itself. IMO, anyways.

Yeah, that's kind of what I get at when I talk about this. Like, I legit worry that if these people continue to feel hopeless, we're going to see a rise in white domestic terrorism. And for the most part, I think people are less inclined to blow it all up and start over, if what they actually have now is enough to sustain or improve their lives.

On the other hand, this election cycle has also shown me that a depressingly large portion of our population seems to be intractably racist and was just waiting for someone who made it acceptable to be so in public again.

Basically I think we should be raising the standards of living and the quality of life in America for the worst off among us, all around. These people are just part of that.

People are moving back to cities in droves; it's much easier to alleviate hopelessness when people are physically closer to opportunity.
