I had the good fortune of hearing some right wing radio talk recently. It's funny how Trump's soundbites are almost universally so bad and (a rational person would assume) damaging to his chances that the hosts are noticeably struggling to spin them as good points or signs of clear leadership. They're playing the best clips they can find, and they still all sound like something that would make a communications director yell, "No, no! Don't play that one!"

That started almost immediately. The most common thing I've seen is saying that Khizr Khan is working for the Muslim Brotherhood, with the implication that his son was too.

Being reported that Pence is trying to find "subtle" ways to distance himself from Trump.

I don't think he has advisers moreso than yes-men. Trump is the kind of guy who fires anybody who disagrees with him about anything.

Since the end of the convention, there have been a grand total of 3 nationwide polls and two state polls (MO, CA) logged on RCP. There just isn't much polling yet.
