How could anybody tell the difference between a paid plant and a Trump supporter

No. He was down to like 5:1 by the time I became a believer. I have no idea how much great I have to make to absolve my sins, but I plan on finding out.

So, what is the fashion now? Are you people still behind the loony old Marxist or have y'all accepted the fate of a shrill old crook with the neocon agenda?

I literally cannot tell.

Let's just go to the official issues page of each candidate.

First up, Clinton.

That's not a neocon agenda. Parsing that as anything close to a neocon agenda is very stupid. It is not something a smart person would do.

Now, up to the entire policy page off of the official Donald Trump website:

Quote:
POSITIONS

PAY FOR THE WALL
HEALTHCARE REFORM
U.S.-CHINA TRADE REFORM
VETERANS ADMINISTRATION REFORMS
TAX REFORM
SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS
IMMIGRATION REFORM
Now, that is a straight copy/paste of both of their full and complete intended, listed positions. How you could ever choose 2 over 1 is crazy. You have a major candidate running for president with only seven listed public positions on policy! That's insane!

Neocon usually refers to foreign policy...Hillary definitely a neocon on fp issues. Your copy paste says just that on Natl Security.

this is the exact wanting I am talking about. There is a huge, huge difference between say, Clinton and Rumsfeld or Wolfowitz. Not admitting such is just showing large bias against Clinton.

I'm sure Shane and other people who want to see the world burn will notice Trump has zero policies that help people who are worse off today. That is a feature, not a bug.

The neocon agenda refers almost exclusively to foreign policy: interventionism, nation-building, and perpetual war.

Don't worry; you wouldn't be able to copy/paste defend that either.

That's the point, Shane. There is nothing on her page that shows her issues to support that of a neocon. You can go read them, or scroll up. If you want to say she has been near to a neocon in the past, you'd be close to right. But again, there is a vast difference between her and a true neocon. You can call her neocon adjacent, but you're supporting Donald Trump! Someone who is vastly, vastly more likely to instigate conflict! You can't be scared of bringing a knife to a gun fight then drive there in a tank.

Or, you can continue to want to vote for the guy who wants to start a trade war with China and kill the families of terrorists because they are so against conflict. I can't think of anyone alive who would instigate more conflict than Donald Trump.

It appears that someone has lost the ability to even.

Schu, can you even or cannot you even even? It seems as though you can't even.

I'd like to say I enjoy watching a man come apart, but, in this case, I cannot. Instead, I will say that I enjoy watching a person come apart.

We embark on this project hoping to encourage fair and thorough exchanges of views, and also fair and thorough advocacy for positions. We should learn a lot.

Rules

1. Posters are required to have 50 posts in SE over the last 365 days. This thread is not a proxy for the Politics forum, or an arena for goal-based issue advocacy from people we don't even know.

2. Pure devil's advocacy will not be tolerated unless it is identified by that poster as the aim of the particular post. There will be no run of the mill nitpickery for the sake of nitpickery.

3. This will be enforced loosely, but you are obligated to outline your basic position on whatever issue you're debating. We will not have loaded, gotcha-style internet-standard race to the bottom terrible posting in this thread. That does not mean you have to state every closely-held belief in every debate. You just can't hide the ball. "I'm not sure what my position is" is a completely valid position to hold.

4. Insults are out. You will not resort to that in this thread, because that will ruin this thread.

5. If you demonstrate an ongoing commitment to lowering the quality of discourse through incessant trolling or simply being really terrible, you'll be removed from this thread.

6. These are subject to significant revision as this thread develops.

There is a tradition in SE of better, fuller, funnier discussion of a really wide range of topics. Let's continue that here.
