Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) says who he voted for is “in the rearview mirror.”

Now "I want to make sure that we conservatives keep on fighting to make sure we don't have a Green New Deal, we don't get rid of gas and coal and oil, that we don't have a Medicare For All plan ..."
also cool

alternatively, the dems could probably win the senate if they offer to cut ppl $300/month checks from jan-dec 2021 or whatever

Obviously there are a ton of steps between here and normalcy, but step 1 is probably "Acknowledge the problem" and step 2 is probably "Appoint competent and qualified people to deal with it". This feels like that:

So, uh, fellas, about that vertical growth rate...you know if we shut it all down right now it’ll be a few weeks before this *starts* to abate, right?

FYI: I’m really scared this time. We’ve never seen it move into this realm of exponential growth before and goddamned no one understands exponential growth (for some reason) they’re talking about 200k cases per day by December but I think it’ll get there NEXT WEEK ffs.

and now the gop really don't care

and apparently the dems can't do ... anything, until like january?

good times

It utterly blows my mind that everyone is basically "over it" when we have almost doubled our worst daily total ever and could triple it by the end of the week. 1,000 deaths/day is not enough to be bothered about. Perhaps 2,000/day will be. Unfortunately we are going to find out.

People don't understand the exponential function or tipping points. We're about to see full ICUs everywhere and a lack of vents that case a 100% mortality rate. All but the most dedicated Alex Jones types will believe it's real, but it will be too late.

Taniel @Taniel

Dems gained only one swing House seat (so far). So Dem challengers who were progressives lost; Dem challengers who were centrists lost; and everyone in between lost.

And the 6 seats Dems lost (so far) were mostly reddest Dem-held seats in the country, the obvious hanging fruit.
Quote:
Aha: the latest Clark County results have lifted Dems ahead in #SD5, the one Dem-held state Senate they were trailing in.

Dems are now on track to keep all their Senate seats, & the Assembly with a few losses, & maintain a solid hold on state government.

msm: ah what a ringing endorsement for incremental centrism, and it would have been an even greater victory if not for those meddling progressives!

without having a strong economic message repeated over and over and over again, you saw an exit poll that showed Donald Trump won 82 percent of voters who said that the economy was their top issue

once again, dems not having an economic message, or any message really other than "orange man bad", is the fault of progressives

He ran as a Progressive in 2008. He sure as **** didn't govern that way indeed you are right.

i dont really get why people always think the political ideas they believe are good are also popular

i mean if the ideas you think are great also match 100% with the ideas you think will win elections then youre obviously deluded

I'm not saying that only Biden could have won because those kind of claims are ridiculous

But if only Biden could have won, the results would have looked a lot like they did

Something to think about

Establishment democrats ideas don't win elections. We have irrefutable proof of that. Might as well try for the ideas that are best and help society the most.

He says, immediately following a race won by the most establishment guy who ever establishmented.

I mean, your point is way to broad to be worth breaking down, but yeah, establishment/moderate stuff can win, so can progressive ideas. So can conservative ideas. Politics is complicated yo

It's almost as if the entire political spectrum has to do some soul searching. Will the bros do it with appropriate levels of objectivity and introspection?
