Yeah this is very well done

How USA#LOL can't even parlay this situation into a significantly better, comparative-to-non-shitty-countries health care situation is completely ridiculous and embarrassing.

This is a Golden State 2020 level collapse from your shitty country.

Read RSigley's account in the OOT Covid thread - he got hit with balance billing from the hospital while he was at death's door. There literally should never be "Your insurance only payed X so you owe us Y." People are paying huge premiums, huge deductibles, and then their insurance only covers part of their expenses. It's insane.

I wasn't considered in serious enough condition at first to be on a ventilator (even when I told them about the cancer) or to even get a hospital bed by the people who saw me, but then when it got really bad I had no power to go outside and get to the hospital. I'm single w/no family and didn't want to bother any friends to be like hey can you drive me to the hospital I'm dying and will probably infect you. I was thinking about taking an uber because the uber drivers here are horrible and never know where they're going or try to scam you somehow, but I didn't think that would be fair to the person who got stuck with me.

One funny thing was around the peak of the pain / struggling to breath I was lying in bed thinking well I had a good life, no regrats. Then my phone starts vibrating a bunch and I'm like guess I'll check that maybe some interaction will get my mind off dying. Grab my phone and it's a text message from MountainView hospital - your insurance didn't cover $72, click here to pay your bill by April 20th. Then every couple minutes a new text came in, your insurance didn't cover X, click here to pay your bill.

I feel like the absurdity of the situation brought some levity and gave me the power to live.

I'm fortunate enough to be financial fine and this won't ruin my life. Couldn't imagine if I was paycheck to paycheck since I've been basically useless for 3 weeks and probably will take a couple weeks to fully recover.

But if you have a chance Joshua Tree is amazing. You can get a cheap air bnb in Feb/March, so I just usually go there and re-charge after 10 months of sports betting every day.

its way past time to remove the word "should" from anything referring to our society.

the point is to strip as much wealth as possible from people. thats the world we live in and it doesnt matter if it "should" be or if its fair or any of that.

Debunked? In what fantasy World? Bernie definitely has a toxic fanbase. Since Bernie dropped out a few days ago, Twitter has been absolutely overrun by toxic Bernie supporters. If you as much as suggest that you will vote for Biden, prepare for a brigade of Bernie supporters to overrun you.

I love Bernie, but it's delusional to suggest his fanbase is not toxic.

The year is 2035. AOC has risen to senate majority leader. She manages to pass universal healthcare and tuition free college. However, the supreme court strikes it down and labels it unconstitutional, spearheaded by the Trump appointees who got appointed because a group of lazy Bernie supporters could not be bothered to show up and vote in 2020.

for some reason i don't think the guy talking about how we are "overrun with toxic Bernie supporters" is posting in good faith about universal healthcare and tuition free college.

Thank you for instantly proving my point

I supported Bernie. I wanted him to be President. But too many of his supporters have a mindset like yours.

Nah, rather the notion that it must be in "bad faith" if you say that you are a Bernie supporter who wants Biden to win against Trump. It's not far from calling people DeEp StAtE oPeRaTiVeS.

Given how passionate most of Bernie's supporters seem to be, a lot seem to not really care whether it will be possible to implement M4A in the next 20-30 years. Because it won't be if Trump gets to pick more young deplorable SC judges.

it was debunked by some study that showed they were no more toxic than the #resistance *******s that spent 4 years attacking them.

I mean, ffs theres an entire brigade of "donut" twitter. the reason they put a donut in their twitter is bc in 2016 when they locked Nina Turner out of the NV convention and she and her group waited all day to get in, they sent them donuts. is that toxic?

its complete garbage. Bernie supporters are by far the most compassionate and loving of any other group on there. hell, look at Brianha Gray Joy's timeline and tell me the whole #blueNoMatterWhoooo group is even close to as bad as Bernie's.

The logic seems to be "my guy didn't win, so now I want poor people's healthcare dismantled even more by Trump."

Or alternatively, "I couldn't have a perfect filet mignon for dinner, so now I choose a rotten pile of feces instead of a lasagna."

It's pretty simple:

If your main priority is poor people having healthcare, you show up and vote for Biden.

If your main priority is your own ego, you stay at home on election day.
