Mitt made his stand, and whatever you think of it, he obviously drew the ire of Trump and his lackeys, who called for him to be expelled from the GOP. One of the loudest voices on that front, was the chairwoman of the GOP, Ronna McDaniel who tweeted:



The reason that's noteworthy is because he full name is Ronna Romney-McDaniel. She's Mitt's niece. She changed her name, at Trump's request, because Mitt's been calling out Trump since 2016.

The DNC is not incompetent. They don't care if they lose the general because it doesn't impact their status at all as wealthy and influential individuals going to fancy parties and such. They want this to happen. Their positions remain secure with anything besides a Bernie win which might actually disrupt their status quo.
