The Department of Justice revealed in a court filing late Friday that it has two dozen emails related to the President Donald Trump's involvement in the withholding of millions in security assistance to Ukraine -- a disclosure that came just hours after the Senate voted against subpoenaing additional documents and witnesses in Trump's impeachment trial, paving the way for his acquittal.

The filing, released near midnight Friday, marks the first official acknowledgment from the Trump administration that emails about the President's thinking related to the aid exist, and that he was directly involved in asking about and deciding on the aid as early as June. The administration is still blocking those emails from the public and has successfully kept them from Congress.

really ****ing cool system we have here guys.

Maybe we can stop teaching kids the founders were super geniuses and USA is special for anything other than its heath care spending per capita, incarceration rate, gun violence, obesity and family leave policy matched only by Papa New Guinea.

We also lead the world several times over with "defense" spending.

the kicker in all this, is this is EXACTLY what the founders feared and why they specifically took the "high crimes and misdemeanor" term of art language from British common law, which had a precedent that INCLUDED corruption and abuse of power.

of course dumbass conservatives know virtually nothing about the constitution they claim to want to follow to the letter.

Let's not forget in his first week in office Trump got a Navy Seal killed in an ill advised political stunt. Trump now has zero boundaries. I'd like him to shoot someone on 5th avenue just to have the feckless republicans defend him, and forever besmirch themselves.

Bernie and Trump are similar personality wise--that's why he rubs me the hell the wrong way. Bernie is less vocal about it--but he's completely full of **** about the riggage claims and that's a very trump thing to do. (everything they've done so far literally helps you, but you're the one complaining STFU)

(hint bloomberg is taking biden votes)

Bloom's also a republican (see 2004 R convention [big bush/iraq war fan), there are too many republicans and people who attack dems more than republicans, and people who really believe things are rigged against their candidate (they're not) for my taste.

They were always going to drop the donor requirement (which anyone who qualified poll wise never came close to missing anyway) when the votes started getting counted. People just like to complain because it's easier than admitting you failed.

Dems will likely spend more time attacking each other than anything else, lol trump wins.

If you think hillary wasn’t hurt by the primary campaign going as long as it did while trump had the republican nomination you’re just being obtuse

Bernie probably 50% to get assassinated in 2020 at this point
But that’s ok and legal and cool because if trump does it to get re-elected it’s not illegal

A whole lot of those reasons were her own fault.

Obama had just as long a primary campaign in 2008 while McCain had the nomination wrapped up early.
It didn't seem to hurt him.

well that's breathtakingly stupid, you can't actually believe that

bernie worked 39 events for her, to the 13 she worked for barry
way more of her ppl voted against barry than bros did against her
everyone had her at like 95% to win until comey got himself involved

but yeah, bernie is equally responsible for that l

anyway, her crawling out of her hole to pop off at him now tells you all you have to know about these ppl
any kind of unity with them is a one-way street, you'll get nothing from them
which is how we got trump
**** them

Complaining even when the rigging might work in your favor seems pretty honorable. To me it appears like every media source I've seen has portrayed this dropping of the requirement as specifically to get Bloomberg in because he's extremely well connected, but you're saying that's not the case?

The DNC are not trying to make a Dem win. They are trying to promote a president that preserves the status quo plutocracy.

So they aren't making a mistake this year, it's very much intentional. They are controlled opposition just as the Washington generals were.

lol you.

they gave him a place on stage next to the entire Democrat ticket.

can he get that anywhere else?

why is he not required to sit on the sideline and wait to debate the Democrat nominee?

and I don't care about Bloomberg because he is not relevant

Oh no no don’t get it wrong here. **** hillary. But I just watched 51 senators eliminate democracy to save themselves from the wrath of the Twitter followers of a senile psychopath

It’s honestly impossible to understate how devastating that vote was to the future of this country. A criminal was just given unlimited power with zero accountability. My contempt for everything that got us to this point is rather unlimited

It's not about defending Hillary at all. It's about recognizing what happened and using it to inform future decisions.

"What happened" and "Who's the best candidate" are two entirely different conversations. Hillary didn't "steal a primary", and the Dems didn't lose 2016 because "they ran a boring Centrist". It doesn't matter if it doesn't fit your preferred narrative, it's just not what happened. We have a metric ton of data and a really clear picture of what went down in 2016. There's no confusion there.

Bernie Sanders has absolutely nothing to do with "everything that got us to this point." He didn't whine about anything being rigged and campaigned his ass off for Hillary. He didn't go to Trump's wedding, isn't on the Epstein Island flight logs, and (alone among Democratic candidates) has a 30+ year record of actually fighting for working people.

Hilldawg didnt lose so much because she's a "centrist" or anything like that, she lost because she was a bad candidate. She lost to Trump for not too dissimilar reasons she lost to Obama.

Of course she almost still squeaked out a victory. But, Obama beats Trump by bigger margins than he beat McCain.
