"Because minorities are out-breeding us" is the second unspoken part.

And as we all know policies are either good for poor and middle class whites, or they're good for poor and middle class minorities. There is no overlap of those circles.

So allowing the Democrats to help to help working poor and middle class minorities with things like Obamacare, parental leave and subsidized higher education must be stopped at all costs. We're not quite sure what sorcery democrats use to make sure that stuff only helps minorities, we just know that's what happens.

Someday in the indeterminate future - Trump will unveil all that stuff for white people. But first he has to build the wall, enrich himself and his family, and give huge tax cuts for the rich. Then the best healthcare system you ever saw is coming. Just have faith.

When did that become a white power thing? My idiot friends were doing that in high school as a game where if you look you get punched.

Which is the group alibi the cadets offered - fully aware of the other more common meaning these days of course. Do you honestly believe they weren't aware of the white supremacist adoption?

I mean what - you show it to the camera and the whole audience gets punched? Makes sense.

They knew they would get disciplined and did it anyway. And their superiors let them off the hook.

On the same week the Senate removed "White Nationalist" from armed forces screening requirements and Trump's Space Force got approved - a chance to create a whole new branch of the armed forces completely in the deplorable image from top to bottom.

Meh the circle game is still super prevalent without all the white power stuff - especially with youngs. I mean there's a chance it was nefarious, but saying it so matter-of-factly is a pretty big leak.

So the best and the brightest, whom we count on to use solid judgement when deciding whether or not to kill people, just decided that would be a fun game to play with the camera for some reason?

As noted itt - the circle game has been around forever. But it just became a while power thing in the last few years.

What a coincidence given all these years of opportunity - that those squirrelly cadets would decide to get silly at the same time as the NZ shooter is doing the exact same thing after killing 50 people!

And what a coincidence that even Milo, Cernovich and everyone else always claim it's just innocuous trolling every time they do it. Lol - triggered you, libs!

It's almost like the sign has two different meanings depending on who your audience is. I believe this is sometimes called a "dog whistle". It means exactly what you want to your targeted audience, but you maintain plausible deniability for the normies - who for some reason bend over backwards to give you the benefit of the doubt.

I guess I don't really understand the 8000 word response? We all know all the stuff you just said. What did everyone expect the outcome of the event to be? "Hey these up-and-coming military members admitted to loving Hitler and hating brown people and they've been discharged"?

Like I said there's a decent chance they meant white power. But just saying "yep they for sure meant it 100% go **** yourself if you disagree" is a really terrible strategy. And very prevalent around here for some reason.

The whole point of their superiors is to determine what the most likely scenario is. They're not bound to reasonable doubt standard.

First of all - it's terrible this even happened.

Second of all - it's terrible the superiors decided to take the easy way out and whitewash it.

Third of all - like I posted - our military already has a problem with white nationalism at the rank and file level. The only thing holding the bulwark right now are the "deep state" higher-ups who know just how dangerous this can be. Well apparently now they're more worried about bad PR than doing the right thing (although it's possible they will mete out harsher penalties in private - we can only hope).

That's the point of making a big deal out of this. It is a big deal, and it sucks.

The circle thing started on 4chan where someone said "hey everyone let's troll the libs by making them think this dumb hand sign is code for white power" whereupon lots of people thought it would be hilarious to fake being racist and it became a thing. The segment of the left that cares about this sort of thing jumped in with both feet and when they realised they were being trolled said "ha but only a real racist would pretend to be racist so you're all fake fake racists!". Or something. So now the trolls are sitting back laughing at the dumb libs for falling for their prank while the left are saying "no, you don't understand, using it makes you racist even if you think you're only trolling!"

It's all very convoluted, extremely stupid and very much a sign of the times.

But for sure let's give everyone the benefit of the doubt who continues to use it now that white supremacist mass-murderers are using it.

I mean who doesn't Nazi salute just for shits and giggles on national TV? Oh wait, there's another meaning? Gosh.

https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/787...-the-absurdity

Quote:
“Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.”

― Jean Paul-Sartre
This is basically what it feels like arguing with any alt-righter. They know deep down a lot of it is about racism and misogyny, once you get past their primary focus - triggering libs. But they play coy and become hopelessly obtuse, depending on the audience.

Lol libs I troll u (but yeah isn't it cool this racist club we're all in).

Just go read the new politics forum sometimes - antifa is somehow a 10x bigger threat than actual white supremacist mass-murderers. It's pure gaslighting. Antifa is a threat to fascists - which a lot of them secretly support. But they can't come out and admit it of course. So you get endless word games and obtuse-athons.

Not saying that either. I'm not defending anyone who thinks it's fun to pretend to be racist in any capacity, just recapping the absurdities of the whole phenomenon.

but your whole synopsis wasnt even correct. and you made it seem like the "the libs" fault. it wasnt a fake white supremacist sign. it was real. and while the libs undoubtedly suck they werent wrong to call attention to it and show outrage.

the circle game also requires you to show the sign below your waist, its a very integral part of the game. so clearly none of the people involved are doing the circle game. they are doing the white power sign game. the fact that the military academies decided not to punish that is sad. i would want them punished EVEN if they were doing the actual circle game and making a mockery in their uniforms on national tv.

i dont understand peoples obsession with not understanding how co-opting symbols work. like this WP outline with your hand(circle game), the dont tread on me symbol and the "betsy ross" flag were taken and used by white supremacists and are now MORE used by white supremacists than anyone else, so stop giving the "benefit of the doubt"..
