Thing is, these considerations don't apply to federal judges appointed for life. I would expect Trump to have a much rougher time even with Bush-appointed judges than almost any other republican President. The Congress may be spineless and hoping to use Trump for their legislative ends, but he's going to have a really rough go of things with the judiciary. As far as I can tell, he's now 0-5 with judges on the immigration order, and it's not going to be much easier on other issues.

Judges like William Pryor, Trump's most likely nominee for the Supreme Court and who is a prominent member of the Federalist Society and was a speaker at this year's convention, aren't bulwarks against Bannon’s vision for America. They are going to be its primary enablers. They are corporatist fascists who are vehemently anti choice, anti LBGTQ rights, and in favor of voter suppression. In other words, they'd fit right in on the bench in Mother Russia.
Even I underestimated the federalist society dregs Trump would appoint

Why are we LOLing at a two-year-old post?

Anyways, I'm an advocate of a Living Constitution, which means I despise textualists and originalists. I wish Democratic Senators would openly take the stance of automatically voting no on any Federalist Society member for a judicial nomination.

  • endorsements! - basically don't matter anymore
but "bennet" has more than bernie?
    somebody endorsed delaney!?
  • fundraising - uhhhhh if your 3 measures don't capture the fact that, for example, bloomby has already spent over $100m on ads, and can keep doing that through 2020 like it ain't no thang, and literally does not need to raise funds ... what is the point of it?
but he's 4th there huh? ok whatever
  • experience - trump was a famous clown with zero experience ... this doesn't matter at all, dude
all the senators are just equal? k

and the number values placed on these different things ...
like "bennet"'s experience is worth about as much as bloomby's money? lolol

BIG FUNDAMENTALS

i mean props on getting paid for this **** that you're literally just pulling out of your ass, but jfc, have a little self-respect

Man, trying to develop a mathematical model of the primary process is tricky. There are lots of non-linearities, there are feedback loops of various kinds. We're most of the way there but it's a hard problem.

lolol
