I'm in the Trump hater camp and hope he's gone ASAP but this Flynn problem seems like a big bag of nothing if it's just stuff the transition team was doing after Trump was elected but before he took office. They need to find dirt on Trump colluding with Russia before the election.

If this was truly "nothing," then Mueller would just throw the book at Flynn and crush him. Instead, they're playing ball together. Flynn was inner circle pre and post White House. There are very few people higher in the chain of command than him. Mueller didn't strike a deal with him to bust the National Librarian. Someone big will be indicted because of this.

Trump will not be gone before 2019. No point in pursuing it anyway until after the House flips, the chain of succession flips to President Pelosi and Pence is implicated in some light treason.

It is very slim, but I think there is a nonzero chance that Trump becomes so toxic that the GOP is so afraid of being ousted completely and yielding president Pelosi that they opt for president Ryan late summer 2018.
