I do consider it for customer-facing roles when the employee is coming in without a ton of training.

I don't want the client to think we are being super cheap by selling them and then one of the account manager types comes from a support role at a BigCo and doesn't have a degree. It def makes it look like a bit of a hustle, but if that person has a background as an account manager, game on.

For most people who get into a decent school for undergrad without a big scholarship, they go from worrying about gas money and a few bucks for lunch to taking out a loan every year that's enough to buy a luxury car.
If you go to grad school that doesn't involve medicine, a top law school, or something that pays you to go, you're probably making a huge mistake. Even the 3rd case can still be a mistake.

The law school **** is often a huge mistake as well.

I said top law school. Going to anything other than a top law school is definitely a mistake.

Also on the list of mistakes, wagering your 2+2 posting against a Trump nomination.

I'm on the line for $1850 to Alex Wice if Trump wins the presidency. $750 if he gets the nom and loses presidency.

Republican establishment has to be panicking now. Not only does Trump destroy a caucus state, but Rubio makes up almost zero ground and Jeb dropping out seems to help him not at all.

I mean it's basically over.

TRUMP has a lot of good states on Super Tuesday, I don't really see what's going to make him lose momentum between now and then. He's gonna win the nomination.

As much as I love Bernie I think I've gotta vote for Hillary in the Primary. Way better chance of defeating TRUMP in the General Election.

we're winning, winning, winning the country," Trump said. "And soon the country is going to start winning, winning, winning."

He basked in his success across demographics.

"We won the evangelicals," he said. "We won with young. With won with old. We won with highly educated. We won with poorly educated. I love the poorly educated."

Further, there are jobs that are vital, that require education, that don't pay particularly well. Making those careers unattractive by saddling those people with debt when they won't make much to begin with isn't particularly desirable for society in my opinion.
I think that's a naive partial explanation at best. There are plenty of jobs that do not require any specific skills that must be obtained in post secondary education and yet routinely essentially require a college degree for hiring. The reason is because...there are college grads available to hire. If there weren't than a hs degree would be adequate. I think you have an idealistic view of the role a degree serves, but it is primarily as a signal that yiu are able to jump through the hoops and check the boxes. Plus there is the related fact that a degree really represents mastery of the next lowest down level rather than the level of the degree.

Man, my experience anecdotally is so counter to this. Especially in petrochem/oil, which has cratered over the last year, the people with grad degrees are the ones that companies are bending over backward to keep. None of my friends with grad degrees are under or unemployed.

What are their grad degrees in? My guess is it's something pretty specialized in a field where there is lots of money to be made/optimizations needed which is a nice combination.

You're going to have to show your work because that's counter to every poll. Bernie does much better with independent voters vs Trump.

RCP has Bernie with a 6 point lead and growing and Clinton with a 2.8 point lead and shrinking.
