few reasons. first the only real alternative is labour, and they are also promising brexit. perhaps labour would've put itself in a position to win if they'd have said '**** that referendum result, we are the remain party' but they didn't. note that both may and corbyn supported remain but have pledged to 'respect the result'
second, while corbyn is
extremely popular among labour party members he is
extremely unpopular with the wider electorate. this is problem. plus some of his policies are perhaps a bit left for mr joe average to swallow. also most of his own MPs are blairite/clintonite types and they hate corbyn (and arent shy about telling everyone) so its a bit of a shambles. imagine if bernie had won the nomination and piles of dem senators & representatives kept telling the press that he's a liability and his policies are crap. that's the situation corbyn finds himself in
third, the strong ukip vote of last time (which was made up of both former conservative and labour voters) looks like its being absorbed almost exclusively by the conservatives. seems that ukippers trust the tories more than labour on the issue of brexit
the only option for single issue remain supporters is to vote lib dem, which most people see as a waste of a vote
(btw im not sure that another exit referendum would go the other way. i saw a couple polls immediately after it happened which suggested so, but who knows what would happen now)
