the odds of flynn sinking trump have to be ~0. maybe he can be part of a bigger picture, idk, but i have a hard time envisioning the scenario where he allows himself to be the linchpin of a trump impeachment

There's a good chance that Trump is too stupid to actually orchestrate a legitimate conspiracy. Maybe Flynn will be testifying against other advisors. Or even more likely, he's posturing in hopes of getting off and there isn't anything.

It is my suspicion that the purpose of this immunity is to intentionally allow him to falsely testify before a friendly committee as to Trump's innocence, and to thereby enshrine under oath the "fact" of Trump's lack of improper interactions with Russian operatives.
