I would defer to domer or someone who is more closely involved with this stuff but even money seems way off market to me. I took a little bit of action on this offering 2:1 immediately after the election and felt like I was getting a great deal (which admittedly isn't a great litmus). I don't know whether recent developments warrant changing the odds from Election Day. 6:1 may be a bit high though.

I assume there has to be a pretty small cap cuz even money he finishes the term sounds like freest money ever

“We’re going to have insurance for everybody,” Trump said. “There was a philosophy in some circles that if you can’t pay for it, you don’t get it. That’s not going to happen with us.” People covered under the law “can expect to have great health care. It will be in a much simplified form. Much less expensive and much better.”
Man ive read this quote a bunch of times yesterday and today and cant help but feel a little optimistic. Like how can this be anything but single payer?

Can't wait to see what this debacle of a plan looks like.

Trump could shoot a man on fifth avenue and still not get impeached.

Then you get stuff like this by fox news

Quote:
At first the GOP seemed inclined to repeal now and promise to replace the program in a couple of years. But Trump insisted that both be done at the same time.

As for Trump’s insistence that no one lose medical insurance, here’s the warning shot: “I think we will get approval. I won’t tell you how, but we will get approval. You see what’s happened in the House in recent weeks.” That was an obvious reference to how he strong-armed the House GOP, with a single tweet, into reversing its ill-advised move to gut the congressional ethics office.

ART OF THE DEAL

Even the GOP has to be completely shook by this guy.

Like, guys, health care policy is heavy **** and not everyone wants to get into the weeds, but some variation of health care reform has been a huge domestic issue since 2007 when both Hillary and Obama ran on some sort of soft universal care.

The GOP hasn't come up with a replacement in 9 years. There is a reason for that!

I doubt you'll ever see what it looks like, because it's bull****.

But how long can he just continue to say "I've got the best health care plan ever. Cheap no cost everyone is covered and massages and blow jobs for everyone. And Mexico is gonna pay" without something actually happening?

Uh, when has Trump ever been forced to reveal the details of a plan?

I don't see how the republicans can achieve their real goal of eliminating the obamacare investment tax while increasing coverage and not blowing up the deficit.

GOP going to impeach him before the Dems get a chance.

my guess is a bunch of people lose coverage and Trump lies about it. maybe people lose coverage and it gets replaced with Dollar Store coupons and Trump claims that that is even better than what they have now. probably something closer to that latter.

By blowing up the deficit, which they and their constituents don't actually give a **** about?

GOP basically gonna have to sometimes do whatever he says even if it means contradicting decades worth of bull**** they've been spouting.

Or fight him and risk getting massively cucked like they did in the primary. Still kinda feel like Trump is a better friend to humanity than the GOP is even if they pretend to be mature pragmatic adults or whatever it is Clark loves about politicans.

yeah I think it's more likely Trump and the GOP come up with a really bad "replace" plan but spin it as something they think is better

Yeah. I think that's the most likely way they would attempt to expand "coverage" but lower costs- make "coverage" mean the ****ty plans that used to be available on the individual market that didn't cover things like maternity or inpatient care, or had crazy low lifetime caps (e.g. 300k)

Not only are a bunch of people (tens of millions) going to lose their coverage, it's going to blow up the deficit bigly.

Congressional Republicans DO have a plan to counteract this, however: They changed the reporting rules so that the CBO can't tell us exactly how much the repeal is going to cost. Because transparency.

They will of course give out ponies galore, add trillions to the debt, and somehow successfully blame Democrats.
