Some ****-talking with a guy that came looking for it in the Iowa Football thread the day after the Rose Bowl loss. That's a pretty awful example. I'm not sure anyone cares to derail this thread with this conversation but I did review my posting in SE in the last month because I don't want to be THAT GUY. I didn't find anything egregious. Though it did remind me that you came at HOYA a few weeks ago, so I guess I'm in good company.

Ludacris you voted for Ron Paul, are planning on voting for Bernie sanders and think that makes sense. You're not some rational dude

Correction: I caucused for Ron Paul in 2012. Democrats already had a candidate, why would I not caucus for my preference from the Republican field.

Main issues for me are:
-corruption of politicians from lobbyists and donors that impacts just about every policy
-criminal justice reform including ending the drug war and the unfair treatment of minorities at every stage of the criminal justice system
-Interventionist foreign policy that ends up killing hundreds of thousands of civilians and creating a power vacuum
-An unnecessarily massive military and the military-industrial complex that wastes billions (trillions?) of dollars

Who else should I have caucused for from that Republican field that would address those concerns?

I'm a simpleton on all this fancy lad ****, but NPR also mentioned that now since sanctions have been lifted on Iran, they're a seller. NPR also said something like 'the players involved might have to come to some agreement.' ?????

I hope 'they' don't come to an agreement, so they can actually compete for what demand exists, and not artificially rig the game.

You should educate yourself on the topic.

The last time an agreement was made to cut production, saying the people who made the agreement had their fingers crossed behind their backs would be an understatement.

Pretty close to my top issues also.

Oil so cheap it feels like the US should dramatically cut production and buy externally while at these prices.

Oil companies in the US aren't nationalized like they are in many other nations. Unless it makes sense economically for these public and private companies to do so they aren't going to cut production. It's not exactly a political decision.

It's been pretty interesting following the developments of shale (because watching market mechanisms in action is awesome).

Lots of shale outfits are shuttered while others are crowing that their breakeven oil price is far lower than (Saudi Arabia) anticipated.

Then you factor in that zero or negative rates will keep the shale business going in the US for far too long until there's a nice big bust followed by a nice big bailout.

Rand Paul made the most sense to me for last two elections, although this whole thing has kind of been a tallest midget scenario for me

Probably be a super complicated answer but why was gas like 4 bucks a couple years ago and now under 2?

It's not particularly complicated. For as much as republicans say Obama is anti-energy, oil production (supply) in the US has nearly doubled since 2011 and vehicles (demand) have become more efficient. It's largely just increased supply and decreased demand.

I'm starting to get a little nervous that AlexWice's Trump bet exposure is to the tipping point where it might be worth it to abandon 2p2. I feel like I should get preferred shares or something in the unlikely event he pays some bets then bails.

I think China's slowing growth is a bigger factor than vehicle efficiency

You seem really quick to suspect people of welshing before any result has even been finalized - iirc you made similar posts last year when I was betting on the Super Bowl.

Demand an escrow at the time of the bet if you're that worried about it.

Well the point is he's taking on all comers right now. Back when I bet him 2 months ago I was the only anti-Trump taker. If I'd have known he was going to wind up with $1000+ in Trump exposure I might have proceeded differently. Totally on me though, buyer beware. Just making a comment. I guess I was hoping someone would tell me he's paid big bets in the past or he's a poker balla or something. I'm self-banned from Politics until the end of the month so this thread is my only outlet.

Any comments I made about Superbowl betting welching for a few $100 sounds pretty stupid by me. I got paid almost instantly by everyone.
