I've been trying to figure this out and haven't done well with google so - is Beto allowed to run for the other Texas Senate seat in 2020? Here's another one - would Bill Nelson be able to run against Marco Rubio in 2022?

Sure bud:

1. I don’t shop at Amazon
2. I don’t shop at Walmart
3. I buy from small businesses if there is an option.
4. I use cash as much as I can.
5. I vote with my money.
6. I don’t use reward cards or real email addresses when signing up for stuff.

If we stopped spending money with corporations, they would feel the hurt, and eventually we could collectively change the scope of the landscape.

Got wrecked in the senate though. Will be very tough to get back control of the senate before like 2024.
huh?

dems govs got crushed in florida and ohio. that means those states easily go trump in 2020. doesnt matter if the rest of the country runs up the dem votes and he loses by 8m votes overall. those 2 states make it a lock for trump.

Yeah, Ohio looks worse all the time. Ohio would always vote dem in the past in an election like this. It's very sad. Just too many people have moved out of the cities to other states while the rurals stay put.

eh, clinton would have won last time without ohio and florida if she had won pennsylvania, wisconsin and michigan or something like that

Nah, newly re-enfranchised felons in Florida not likely to skew republican. That’s a sizable bump for the Dems in 2020.

Ohio obv different

A while back I posted that Beto signs in my rural area outnumbered Cruz signs 20:1 and houses that previously had Trump signs now had Beto ones. Turns out my EYE TEST was accurate: I live in one of the few counties that shifted from Trump Red to Beto Blue. Proud of my little area this morning even if I shake my head at my state.

This is pretty much my point. It requires quite a parlay from the dems.

Texas did very, very well down ballot for the blue team. They did very well down ballot in a lot of places. The worst part of the Obama era was losing ~1200 seats in state legislatures. The senate sucked, but they got a lot of judges, state officials and meaningful ballot votes won. As much as it would have been nice to have had a hero like Gillum or Beto, the real heroes were the people on the ground doing GOTV. Good job anyone who put the work in.

Thanks for that link. I admit that I focus entirely on the top level things (senate/house/gov/president) and need to expand that to lower level and more local things.

this was posted in politics, but thought i'd share it here.

all 59 incumbent republican judges in Houston were unseated last night by blue wave..

One juvenile court judge is not taking it so well..
https://www.chron.com/news/houston-t..._medium=social

he has released all juvenile offenders that came before him today, just asking them if they would kill anyone. setting all their court dates for 1/4/19 which is when his successor takes over.

he stated that this must be what voters wanted.

Financial Times @FT

Russian billionaire Rybolovlev charged in Monaco corruption investigation

It's too late. At best they can buy themselves 3 months. After that, several of the House committees could just bring Mueller back and hes be out of Exec. Branch reach.

anyone know if Mueller was at least allowed to process whatever he's been holding for the last month or so after the polls closed?
