You don't just get to hand-wave away the murder conviction because you, ClarkNasty, don't like the law. A jury of his peers convicted him of murder.
He was offered 25 years, which if he reformed would mean parole in his late 20s/early 30s most likely (not a practicing attorney in Alabama).
Not feeling any sympathy for him given his crimes and the offer that was on the table.
