I've seen this misuse of the "cuck" perjorative one too many times, so it's time to correct the record. "Cuck" is a shorthand version of the simple-yet-elegant term of art cuckservative*, which originally referred to what Biesterfield above calls the "conservative intellectuals" before becoming an appropriate descriptor for the impotent "muh constitutional values" never-Trumpers:

Quote:
The word was perhaps inspired into being by Donald Trump's candidacy, which itself provoked a cuck chorus of shocked and offended Republicans who had been responsible for crushing genuine conservatism and replacing it with a deformed cuckoo of endless war, corporate oligarchy, and whatever moral boundary liberals stopped just short of ten years minutes ago.

Establishment conservatives are in fact sinecured opportunists who are either too venal or too idiotic (or, most likely, both) to recognize that political conservatism no longer has any meaning. This conservatism cannot say that it conserves anything because it is in favor of a chaotically destructive free market and its social habits are nothing if not depraved. The emblematic establishment con is someone who talks his ex-girlfriend's daughter into aborting their love child, or who cucks his own son and then denies it after his daughter-in-law kills herself. On no issue do these people have the slightest credibility, and as to character they are like understudies to lead-poisoned Roman emperors. Or else are simpering, childish, figuratively and literally crippled nullities.
The autoadmit-spawned "****lib" (now in wider use) might be the epithet you're going for.

*in this context -- not in the "intellectual fetish" context

Like I can completely see Woodward and Bernstein busting into Ben "Tut" Bradlee's office at Wapo circa 1973 with this yuge story on a break-in at a local motel and omgz it's connected to the President and him going, "Why are you didiots bringing me public corruption nonsense everyone knows politicians are corrupt lolu" but idk what would have occupied that column space instead. Maybe photos of the latest hippie doing laps in the Reflecting Pool? Give the people what they want!

House just passed a bill so if that passes through everybody all they have to do is vote and they can undo everything. Also, dems wouldn't be able to filibuster.

dems are as good at politics as ned stark.

trump has the moral character of your average horse-****ing roman emperor. he clearly has no sincere conservative values on stuff like abortion or gay marriage. he's enthusiastic about bombing people and almost made john bolton secretary of state. and this
Quote:
corporate oligarchy ... chaotically destructive free market
is about as incoherent as his economic ideas.

but trump isnt a cuck because he's going to kill muslims, keep the immigrants out and get tough on black people while not asking too many questions when the police shoots someone.

the slightly more sophisticated version of "cuck" is "globalist" but the meaning is the same. it's the accusation that someone might think the lives of people that are not white and/or not american have a little value too.

And if I'm wrong and it is newsworthy then it kind of shocks and annoys me that there are so many intelligent people who are/were clueless about the current state of the human race.

Also if we're going to be publicly shaming random uninformed idiots (which I'm fine with), then I'd really like to read some anecdotes of some of the 17 million dumbasses who voted against their own self interest in the Democratic primary.

well, this was one of the more clear cut situations. and ppl love anecdotes and often respond to them.

the dem primary is not so cut and dry. many ppl preferred hil bc they thought she would do better in the national. bernie was a fringe candidate, esp to older voters that lived through the cold war. I think he gets crushed by trump.

There's no way he does worse against Trump than she did. Bernie beat her in Michigan and Wisconsin so right there that gives him a strong argument for being able to possiblly flip things. The stayes she performed strongest against Bernie in, are all states that she lost to Trump. And it's not like Bernie would have lost CA or NY.

Are there any states that Hillary won that you think Bernie would have lost?

Trump also would have had to campaign differently since even people who dislike Bernie still kinda like him. He couldn't just outright bash him like he could do with her. He didn't have literally dozens of warts and scandals and people haven't despised his every fiber for the last 20 years

This isn't hindsight. This is what many Bernie supporters were screaming during the primary. And they were dismissed as Bernie Bros and admonished by the "grown ups" who are now still jacking themselves off over being able to call themselves hurr durr the only adults in the room when it comes to foreign policy...despite being delusional and thinking they live in fairytale land.

Hillary benefitted from a massive advantage of having all the pledged superdelegates early and by crushing Bernie in the early voting, mostly black (on the dem side), bible belt states, which are states she was never ever going to beat Trump in anyway.

Most of the voters in those early states were massively voting against their self interest and if the NYT would have interviewed them, their reasons for voting for Hillary would have been just as stupid as the uninformed kid with cancer who we should all be laughing at I guess.

It was also declared racist and insensitive by #teamgrownup to point out that those people were voting against their own self interest. But now that dumb uninformed white people did it, **** it. Especially since the dumb vote went so much against the good guys this time.

Then later on people voted for Hillary because she was winning because... reasons, most notably because they thought the fact that she was winning meant she was a better candidate.

I don't think anybody who voted for Hillary is going to stay home or vote someone not D because COMMUNISM. At least when the R is Trump.

Lotta folks who stayed home would be energized to actually show up and vote for Bernie.

Of course, people who stayed home in the actual election would show up in this hypothetical, to do their duty to prevent America from becoming USSR.

I'm not sure we can be all that confident in anything besides higher turnout.
