I don't know where else to put it, but general NFL question

How hot are the Cards running?

9-1 despite a RB who is bottom 5 of starters, a completely middle of the road QB game, a #1 target (Floyd) who hasn't met really any expectations this year and has been a drop machine. PFF has them as a Bottom 5 offense

The defense is good, tough against the run and good Secondary play (Although PP hasn't been as good), but it's not really an elite defense overall

They may be running a little hot, but nothing out of the ordinary. They're a really well put-together team; solid offense, good oline, amazing (and apparently) underrated defense. They don't rely on a star; all of their skill-positioned players are interchangeable.

Ellington is def propped up by above average pass catching. Are people in here unaware that Ellington is averaging like 3.4 yards per carry?

Only starters I can think worse than that right now:

Ball, Trich, Tate (who got cut), Gerhart, MJD

I may be forgetting someone, but that's the company he's in.

He's got 980 yards from scrimmage and the 4th most receiving yards in football for a RB. Yeah, he's been less-than-productive rushing the ball this year, but it's impossible to separate his above average pass catching from his body of work.

Ellington is not closer to top 5 than bottom 5, that's crazy

Worst elusive rating among all qualified starters
627 yards on 187 attempts (3.4)
1.9 yards after contact per attempt

He's good in the passing game, but def nowhere near great this year
6 drops, 1.68 yds per pass route. 8.7 yards per reception, which is middle of the pack for qualifying pass catching backs (>30 targets)

There's no way to spin Ellington is having a good year
I also don't see a way to spin a solid offense for Cards either

PFF has it Bottom 5
FO has it Bottom 10

Glad to see that list. Yeah Bradshaw was a 5.8 so dropping to a 0.0 in TRich hurts, but hey, it could be worse. The Colts could be stuck with Gio (-2.6), Ellington (-6.4), or Shady (-9.0)

Saying Miller or Ivory has been better this year is pretty crazy imo

Again, this started by me saying he's probably been been a bottom 5 RB this year

What supports that he's been close to Top 5 production wise this year?

They just want to count the passes. I maintain that it's hard(er) to win anything that matters in the NFL without someone being able to run the ball for you. I think the Cards will see that come playoff time.
