That's a good question, I think a TD reception should get the point for the catch as well but it's not clear. Is a TD considered a "first down" ?

Or the settings could just be correct. There is an option in yahoo for no trade review or processing delay. Why didn't we just use that?

They for sure counted several of the Julius Thomas touchdowns as first downs, so that's why I assumed it had to be.

Man I'm still bitter over bidding up Sankey and landing him. He was basically on my don't draft list unless he fell super far. That's gonna hurt. I need Greene to catch aids (well even more aids).

Btw we could/should reduce the review time down to 1 day. That's a snap change in my books, and I can't see why anyone would vote against.

Because there's a lot of settings and sometimes you're going to get things wrong.

the difference between good commish and you/wiper seems to be a blind adherence instead of making common sense changes for the good of the league. nothing unfair or unethical has taken place. this is our first year on Yahoo at these settings. next year should be fine

And what about when you and some,but not all, other people think a change is common sense and others do NOT agree yet it is after they paid and drafted under different rules?

Give an example
for whatever it's worth you're the only person in a league who is even remotely complained about any of the changes

if you would like to get out somehow, I'm sure we could find someone to take over for what you bought in for if its a real issue

also if there really is some situation as CDL is alluding to where a lot of people are against one of the changes, I'll gladly let someone else do this

I approve of digables' common-sense and decisive commissioning.

But it's not like people's decisions up until now have been dependent on the trade-review procedures, right? It seems like there's a very big difference between majority-ing through something like this vs. say actual scoring settings.

I don't like stuff like that. He joined a league with some rules before he paid, and you're never going to get 12 guys who all think exactly the same. People shouldn't be singled out for having an opinion.

Now the flip side to that is Digs did a pretty good job getting all these settings 95% correct. Obviously this needed a bit more tinkering. I can see the side of tinkering it in the offseason vs tinkering it now. So CDL isn't wrong, Digs isn't wrong. There doesn't have to be a person who is wrong here.

I think pushing trades straight through makes people less willing to trade on uncertain info (like mid week injury status). I think that having to decide on Monday you're gonna need someone to fill in for a guy who may miss Thursdays game and thus needing to swing a trade to compete in an important week is a part of the game. Likewise, if you can wait til Saturday night for an update you're not gonna be willing to take a gamble shopping around on Wednesday and Thursday.

We're not going to have pending periods on trades in A LEAGUE.

The process is:

1. Trades get approved by both sides
2. Commish reviews as soon as possible to ensure there's no obvious collusion or foul play
3. Trade gets pushed through

That's really the end of it

Again, and I don't disagree with rafiki, but this is how this league is going to run. I don't expect everyone to agree with it, but I think it's for the betterment of the league and the majority has agreed.

Yes there's trades that will happen that will suck for wiper or whoever it is, but it's really up to the owners trading on who they want to deal and acquire, and just like the real world, owners not involved don't get to decide when they travel and where they'll play. (Unless you want me to go the David Stern route and just outlaw everything I don't like?)

I understand if it doesn't work for you, and like I said, you can get out of the league with no loss I'm sure if it's an issue.

But it's how the league is going to be run this year wrt/ trades. I'd love for everything to get agreed upon in the preseason, but I'm not going to stick to (what I consider) dumb rules or settings that punish the league because NLS and I made a small oversight when making our settings.

If other leagues want to stick strictly to the settings they made, I have no problem with that.

I might like to complain, but a rule was changed the morning of the first game and it can still directly affect my winning or losing.

it might be technically "correct" to do so, but you're still changing the rules the morning before the first game, and I'm the only person it can negatively affect.

won't matter, bc I'm skull-crushing him right now, but if rivers goes for like 400 yards/5 td's tonight, I'm very likely to be a dick about it even though rafiki is the nicest person ever and the rule change going forward is "correct".

changing a rule that was entered in before we all paid 2 hours before the league starts isn't a good look, regardless of me liking to complain or even the "correctness" of the rule change..
