There were 13 teams left when they switched to this format. An alliance of seven pairs could vote for two of the remaining six pairs every episode until they got down to eight teams, at which point they would have to throw in one of their own to compete against the remaining non-alliance pair. At that point I'd assume they'd split off into a 4v3 alliance somehow unless they switch the format up somehow. They would literally never be in danger since they don't throw in the losing team automatically and there is no immunity for anyone (except for guys/girls days)
