Despite the fact that they ****ed up the final and the announcement of the winner, this was the best season in a while.

I usually watch the reunion but I have no interest this year. Probably because of spite, or because last year's was so dull

Champs vs Stars starts on Tuesday, I'd give the show another chance. Trailer for this looked good and I like the idea of a big 2 team challenge. It has potential.

So maybe keep it here but agree it should be on thin ice.

Agreed. The final/after-show has been turrible, but the body of this season has been great. So many fresh faces and many of them are actual competitors. This is what we have been asking producers to give us for years.

The dual with 2 girls where they had to grab a ball that was plinko-ed down a wall by TEEJ then take it back to their area while kneeling (i forgot who the 2 girls were) where one was kneeing and hitting the other was the stuff of legends.

We also got Joss vs Derrick in what was one of the best eliminations we've ever witnessed.

How quickly you all forget about scottie Pippen turning on michael in what was an actual un-needed stab in the back from a friend (this wasn't one of those late in the game where someone had to choose to throw in one of his 2 friends either).

I liked the gameplay this season.
The challenges were consistently awful though. the team selection sucked. the grenades fell flat. They also f'd up the money situation

The troika should have been able to put 3 people "on the block" for elim. and the rest of the house should have voted.

Grenades were interesting but they were made too weak. The fact that the money from each challenge for the winner wasn’t kept nor was it made obvious from the beginning that it would be the case. They could have easily had an amazing year with a few simple changes.

I feel like the CHALLENGE producers feel the need to create game drama by throwing in tons of huge twists.

The problem is that a simple, understandable formula creates drama on its own. The early seasons of Big Brother were way better than the later seasons where producers started inserting themselves in a bigger way. The formulas for shows like The Amazing Race, Survivor, Big Brother, have produced so many seasons and remained successful because a simple formula works.

Either teams of two or large teams, simple challenge, vote, challenge, elimination system, or remove the 2nd challenge for a shot at immunity and just have the challenge. Either worst team sent in or best team sends someone in, house votes on the other person/team to go in. Also, blind ballot creates way better drama. Look at the drama created by Bananas leaving fake notes around the house. A surprise send in is so much better when the person sent in has to figure out who did it and people can lie/pin it on someone else.

yeah, although it did seem clear to the players that the money wasnt permanently theirs once it was won

THIS. I love the challenge, been watching since the beginning. Ive never been more confused on how things went down. Grenades change, rules change literally in the middle of events. Bogus!

Guess no one cared about the reunion.

For those who just want the results:

Spoiler:

1st - Cara Maria
2nd - Zach
3rd - Kyle
4th - Kailah

I saw the last 15 minutes of it. They announce the winners the last minute of the show.

Tough to have a reunion where you can't talk about who won, since so much of the discussion can be about that. And there was no trash talk about winning.

man Arian Foster is kindof a dick

Lol Arian wanted to go HOME! That's the issue with rich people on the show, they don't care that much about being on the game long term.

The best part of champs vs stars had to be tony talking to casper smart after the elimination like he was a mob boss. This guy dated JLo for like 5 years or whatever, he's probably been to hollywood royalty parties, traveled the world with 1 of the most famous woman on the planet and now he is on champs vs stars and having Tony tell him that he needs to decide if he wants to pledge allegiance or be hunted by him.

did not watch a single second of the reunion or champs. challenge just isn't delivering any more

this champs seems like it could be interesting

you have a relatively fresh cast of challengers who will cause drama like shane/tony

This was one of the more entertaining challenge series ever, so much drama, good eliminations and gr8 competitors. My only complaint is that they didn't have the elimination at the end of each episode, hated the cliffhangers every week.

Champs versus Pros being for charity sucks. and no Teej sucks
The SE CHALLENGE Thread Quote
04-18-2018 , 03:23 PM
Yeah the charity part definitely makes it lower stakes no matter how hard they try to pretend it isn't. The show also definitely seems overproduced as well. You can tell when they're trying to start up drama. Tony in particular came off as very contrived.

Wonder what the $ is like for the stars to be on the show? Can't be much? Maybe different for different stars, like TO would get more than the girl from Wild N Out. But I can't imagine its more than like 50-100k considering the filming is only a few weeks and it is a very low rated show.

I feel like a TO maybe gets 50k?

I mean Bananas gets like 35-40 for the regular challenge and I'd think a TO could command more than him considering Bananas would likely do it for a lot less.

Arian Foster, Boobie Gibson, cardi B's sister like 10k tho...They still get more than the challenge regs though I'd think

damn dkbro getting old

the way theyre announcing the winners is beyond stupid but champs vs pros is still high quality stuff. can't wait to watch tonight

tons of great moments the last two seasons. bringing in great new competitors. some memorable eliminations and challenges. they just aren't doing everything optimally as far as viewing goes but it's still incredibly entertaining.

car challenge and joss/derrick both have goat equity in their respective categories
