I think the reality is that Canelo
did feel GGG"s power and knew he couldn't stand and trade, so he retreated to the ropes to try and bait GGG into over committing. GGG never really went for it and just kept landing medium-power simple combinations while Canelo slowly broke down.
Barring father time killing GGG, the rematch goes the same way. GGG can wear down Canelo, Canelo can't really hurt GGG. GGG will come in more confident and Canelo less so. GGG will cut the ring off a little better (although he doesn't need to do much more there) and land more to take rounds.
Byrd will inexplicably be allowed to judge again and score the 12 round fight a 10th round TKO for Canelo.
