Have to give credit to Canelo for coming on strong over the last few rounds. Dude is an animal.
I think the reality is that Canelo did feel GGG"s power and knew he couldn't stand and trade, so he retreated to the ropes to try and bait GGG into over committing. GGG never really went for it and just kept landing medium-power simple combinations while Canelo slowly broke down.

Barring father time killing GGG, the rematch goes the same way. GGG can wear down Canelo, Canelo can't really hurt GGG. GGG will come in more confident and Canelo less so. GGG will cut the ring off a little better (although he doesn't need to do much more there) and land more to take rounds.

Byrd will inexplicably be allowed to judge again and score the 12 round fight a 10th round TKO for Canelo.

I am shamelessly jacking "118 Bufallo Bills - 110 NFC" every chance I get.

I think Canelo easily won that fight. GGG did not do much, at least from my viewpoint. I am unbiased and a fan of both fighters. Canelo landed more power shots and caused way more damage. It was a good fight, didn't quite live up to the hype imo, but I predicted a UD for Canelo and think he should have got at least the split decision. Although GGG did land more shots overall, mostly jabs that had no real effect, so it is hard to say. I think a draw is just to make both fighters look good, and set up an even bigger rematch. Because what else does boxing have?

I'm looking at Byrd's judging history and it's really not that bad.

Kind of weird that she would tarnish her reputation with this card.

Well maybe not. It's boxing and she probably got bribed.

Checking in

Adalaide Byrd is the most corrupt judge in the history of the world. This is like the 4th such result of hers like this

I had GGG 115-113. Superior space control, relentless jab. Canelo fought like hell. That was a truly great fight.

I'm just incredibly pissed off that Byrd's card is all that we'll remember this fight by. Boxing is dead, and this corrupt **** is why. (If you wanted further proof, did anyone watch the betting lines over the last 24 hours???? I rest my case.)

GGG is all class in the interview. I wouldn't handle it quite as well as he did.

He was more pro-Mexico. I forgot his username but he had the avatar where it looked like Daffy was having a wank.

RT,

I'm more of an mma guy so I appreciate the analysis (although I do watch a fair amount of boxing) . Looking forward to the rematch.

What were the other ones?

I'm looking through her judging history right now on Boxrec and I don't see anything too bad. I guess having Froch 118-110 against Kessler was bad but she got the winner right and it was 5 years ago.

Hhaha. The second I heard "118" I was lining up my "Never change, boxing. Never change" post.

I think the draw was fair enough though. I was thinking at the end of the 11th it could very easily be a draw regardless of who wins the 12th.

Great fight. Dat 5th round lols.

Super,

She has some really questionable, to say it lightly, mma decisions but I never thought she was corrupt, just an idiot. I'm not familiar with her boxing credentials.

I'd like to see Wood come back and list the 20 he was talking about.

You don't magically move from +195 to +120 in 48 hours for no reason

when i heard 118 i was like "how could anyone score it 118 for golovkin" then wtffffffffffffffffff

a draw is a totally reasonable card the way that canelo closed the fight.

Super Uber whatever the ****,

Pacquiao-Bradley for one. A bunch of MMA ****. She has quite the reputation if you're paying attention. There are rumblings, dare I say, if you know some stuff.

Pretty sure ****ing Referee Robert Byrd is literally her only credentials.

That was CJ Ross

Always thought the way judges were selected was kind of a joke. I mean what determines who is a good judge and who isn't?

CJ Ross got death threats and was basically forced by the NSAC to retire after scoring Manny/Bradley I 8-4.

Never going to wish death threats on someone, but it's time for Byrd to be put out to pasture.
