The first one that started all this + the last big one looked low to me, but depends on where the ref put the line on his belt before the fight began. If the belt line was clearly in play then I think it's good.
The first shot was like 75% of the glove on the belt/25% glove on the trunks. That's bad, and is technically low, but I guess **** happens.
The latter two even got the trunks to puff out, which is the tell-tale sign of a low blow and Weeks just let it happen.
Ward looked even better in this fight and even though I had Kov up at the time, I think Ward was going to run the latter rounds and take it, but woof that ending is a shame.
That was a fun card. 2 prospects showed they are worth following. Rigo's 3 min had action, the following takedown by HBO of Bob Bennet was enjoyable, and then Ward and Kovalev gave us 8 rounds of high level skill and entertainment. I don't love how it ended but it was fun.
Thought Kovalev lost 2 rounds. Despite doing better overall, Ward took him out in the end.
Least expected outcome in my book. Before the last round, Ward didn't seem to do much damage but took his share. But like the last fight, Kovalev gassed midway and it was over.
Man that was an incredibly disappointing way to end the main event in my eyes. I thought the fight was super close once again honestly there were like six rounds that could have legitimately gone either way. I guess we wrap this rivalry up hopefully ward faces Stevenson or something
Some of those blows were low but Ward was going for the body because he knew Kovalev was out of gas, and so it was. It's a shame it ended the way it did because it prevented us from getting to see Kovalev laid out on his ass where he was destined to finish.
