This is such a ****show.

Commish has it right, should be a NC, but Vic (ref) determined to say it's a DQ. I've never seen this much uncertainty after a fight at this level.

Rigo gets the win !!! Fair to me

Edit: I think it should have been no contest but for me Flores took a dive.

Uh, he held his head 3x then threw a KO punch after the bell, clear no contest/no decision there.

Oh my lord, Rigo by KO is the worst outcome given the explanation.

Jesus Christ

I can see the argument that both fighters were still going, so "after the bell" doesn't really apply here, but Vic gave the WOAT explanation of that situation and his decision came from that flawed place. Ugh

The correct ruling for me is no contest but I'm happy that the boxer that took a dive ended up losing.

I don't think it matters if both guys are punching after the bell except that you can't really DQ one guy if they are both throwing.

That's fair.

That's what I'm saying.

It can't be a KO because the ref himself said he was separating the fighters following a foul and the shot was clearly after the bell.

I can't be a DQ because there was no determination that Rigo threw an illegal shot intentionally.

It's a NC via Cluster****

This Bob guy is a joke. I love HBO pressuring him so they don't look like they ****ed up. I doubt anyone told Bob what he says they did.

This is more entertaining than an actual Rigo fight.

Wow, so if we both try to punch each other and I land and KO you but you land and don't KO me, and you can't continue, I'm DQed and you win? That seems insane.

I get the statement, but I really dislike former champions carrying out their previous belts.

10-9 K

Super close 1st rd. Either K's body shots or W's hook won that won. Love that Weeks is already breaking up clinches quickly.

Agree with val, Kovalev is more tentative and trying to score with more, lighter punches.

Haha, here we go again.

I thought Kovalev's 2 solid body shots and jab won the round, then HBO says they think Ward won it with the check left and right hand.

Edit: Lederman has it for Krusher.

So many jabs. Ward landing the better power shots so far save for Kov's right towards the end of that round.

Way outworked Ward that round. Ward did land a nice left hook with about a minute left but Kov landed more and better.
