Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

Saw a replay of Foreman/Cotto. I give props to Foreman for sticking out his knee injury until the end. I suffered a serious knee injury myself in the past and it's phenomenal that he was standing up, let alone moving around and fighting.

At this point, it's all so anti-climactic, but whatever. Looking more and more like it's about to happen.

Also, anyone else catch David Lemieux dismantling Elvin Ayala the other night on Friday Night Fights? Not counting Lucian Bute, Lemieux is quickly becoming the new face of Canadian boxing. Incredible power...I'm excited to see him face some better challenges at middleweight now.

Rat, do you ever go down to the fights in Montreal? I'm seriously considering going up to watch Bute the next time he defends his belt at the Bell Centre.

Nah I have a friend whose girlfriend is a waitress at a nice sports bar around here so we always get the best table on fight nights. If you're in town for a nice fight let me know I'll join you though.

This. He's probably the only boxing genius currently active other than Floyd, except this guy tries to punish people. Not necessarily knock them out, just punish them. The showtime idiots acted like Ward had never fought inside but he did it some against Miranda and a little against Kessler. Allan Green is an A-1 bum, but Ward completely humiliated him.

Dirrel will give him his toughest fight of the tournament but I still see Ward winning. That will be a great fight. I think behind Pac and Mayweather, this guy is the best P4P fighter in the world. If he gets through this tourney undefeated he will have fought more tough fights in a couple of years than Mayweather has had his whole career.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

the rumor mill has been particularly busy this week with talk of the Pac/ Mayweather fight being close to, if not made. A friend passed me this tweet and says it is reliable, so w/e...we'll see I suppose. Was from Molly Sullivan:

Lunch update from my #1 source in Vegas: Pacquiao/Mayweather IS happening late Nov...Steve Wynn is building an outdoor venue just for fight.

so there you go. 3rd hand news.

We'll know by Friday if the mega fight will happen this year, ball squarely in PBF's court as the deadline approaches:

pac agreed to all and any of PBF's testing demands, they have agreed on the pay split, 50/50. Once this was established, PBF said..."well, maybe I don't want to fight this year, maybe next year".

Is he playing games? who knows. But he has until Fri @ midnight to give his answer. It won't look good for him if he declines.

PBF is afraid plain and simple. He knows Pacman is better than him and he will lose

This is fantastic. I mean, not really, but as far as Floyd nuthuggers go, this is fantastic.

Floyd is a *****. There are no excuses anymore.
