Geale has been nothing since he got owned by GGG and Cotto. At this stage of his career, a gust of wind would knock him out.

Pretty awful fights. Jack is massively overrated and DeGale will crush him and Eubank should beat Quinlan.

ITV Box Office? What?

The price will be "competitive". With Eubank Snr involved I'm actually expecting this to cost the same amount as US PPV.

Good luck to anyone paying more than a couple of quid to see this world title (lol) fight. The bloke has ducked a rematch with Saunders, a scrap with Golovkin and one with Jacobs (?) to fight for this POS.

I'll pay a couple of quid if ITV go back to this intro music:

apparently canelo and chavez jr are in negotiations for a cinco de mayo fight

at 165 pounds

it's almost as if all this talk about canelo needing to acclimate himself to 160 was bull**** excuses to run from GGG

In fairness it's Chavez Jr, the best money-risk ratio for any top fighter over the last few years.

That said, Canelo should've faced Golovkin like a year and a half ago. This is getting ridiculous obviously.

The weight thing was always a farce, Canelo would be a very big 160lber, he's like a historically giant 154lber lol.

Povetkin tests positive for another banned substance, Stiverne fight is off.

Orozco feints trying to make weight, his fight is also off.

Not a great weekend!

Chavez-Canelo at a catch weight might be fun. I predict Chavez will probable pressure canelo for a few rounds and then canelo will catch him with a body shot or two and he will quit.

Chavez is probably done and him and haymon know it so this is just about getting as much $$$ as possible on the way out.

Chavez fought a bum in his comeback fight and couldn't knock him out.

He only makes it halfway through the fight if Canelo lets him.

If Chavez makes 165, it means he had to at least train part time, so that bodes well for us fans. I'd imagine Canelo winning handily, but it might be a real trench war for awhile. Chavez is very big and strong, he'll likely sit near Canelo too and trade for awhile. That's Canelo's wheelhouse (a slower guy standing in front of him) but it could be a treat. I'd like this matchup if Canelo had fought Golovkin already.

So Povetkin fought on, he found a decent opponent on 24 hrs notice, Duahuapus, the guy that got TKO'd by Wilder last year and has mixed it up with a few solid opponents (Teper, Charr for example). Didn't end well though - https://t.co/LCNi98YolP

Kind of stunning that they got this guy on 24 hrs notice. I wonder if the camp knew he was going to test positive and were preparing days/weeks in advance.

Dahaupus was a top 10 HW going into the fight according to boxrec.com for what that's worth. Guy was never knocked down prior to Povetkin (he only lost to Wilder by ref stoppage). Granted, he was clearly out of shape and on 24 hours notice but it's still surprising that he went down.

Sucks that Povetkin can't fight clean because he's a hell of a fighter even without juicing.

Yea really sucks Povetkin won't be in the mix now, nobody to blame but himself.

Dahaupus was no pushover for sure, but short notice, vs a top 5-7 HW, he didn't stand much of a chance imo. Wilder also was swinging wildly as Dahaupus was a literal punching bag for long stretches in their fight. Wilder didn't turn his gloves a ton on his hooks if you look at the highlights otherwise it would've been game over much sooner.

Shame Pirog had to retire with a back injury

Agree. Pirog would have made MW very interesting.

Anyway, I think Jacobs has a legit shot at GGG. GGG had trouble dealing with some of the angles that Brook was giving him and got frustrated in the ring. Just that Brook didn't have the power to any real damage. Jacobs can offer the kind of power that will at least make GGG think before blocking punches with his face. He probably doesn't win but this won't be a walkover like everybody else.

Mchunu proving that the only person who can fight like Floyd Mayweather is Floyd Mayweather

7-1 Osyk. Can see Mchunu getting 3 at most but I don't have it that way.

EDIT: Fight over. Osyk probably could have ended it earlier if he came at Mchunu earlier. Suppose he didn't want to rush it and risk getting caught.

Nobody here gonna watch the B-Hop fight?

You guys shouldn't sleep on Smith. He probably won't win, but he might make it more competitive than we expect.

BHop moving very gingerly early in the fight. Took some solid shots from Smith. Knew it'd be competitive.

Smith won the first 2 rounds though the second was closer.

BHop gonna get every close round. No way he loses a decision against Smith unless it's a complete blowout.

========

5th was close, 6th BHop showed that even at 51, he's really hard to hit.

3-3 Even
