Kinda shocked Froch isn't fighting again considering how much it must cost to feed whatever is on his head.

Camelo is still only 26. Maybe he just wants to chill and do easy fights for a few years and then when the time (translation: $$) is right he will take another real fight. Maybe he just isn't interested in going though a bunch of wars and burning out young.

Dude has fought 50 pro bouts at an age many boxers are just starting to go pro. Relax.

I think Canelo would fight just about anyone besides GGG. Canelo is really good, but GGG is great.

He'll wait for him to slow down a step or two or become a superstar name that will demand so much money that it will be worth Canelo's likely loss. Similar to the Mayweather fight, but Floyd wasn't a KO risk, the damage isn't as lasting.

It's insane, but it's getting to the point that GGG should just move up to 168-175 and dare to be historically great. He's smaller than Canelo and probably plenty of 154lbers, so it would be pretty risky to fight huge guys like Ward and Kovalev. Still, it's the only thing he can do besides waiting and risking age beating him.

He was 5/2 if I recall and even got as low as 2-1 leading up to the fight, before going back up.

Boxing is sort of like if you took an NFL team and had them play 2-3x per year throughout their careers, but the team was pretty consistently madeup of the same players throughout the team's lifespan.

It's harder for casual fans to ignore results oriented thinking. Also, casual fans haven't usually boxed, and aren't familiar with the strategies and skills. It's not like baseball or soccer or basketball where many fans have played for years growing up. So it's harder to separate noise from substance, tougher to weight the variables accurately.

Scoring in boxing is also stupid. I don't see why they don't do 1 point to the winner of each round, 1 point for a knockdown, 1 point to the opponent instead of point deduction. Much easier to follow for casual/new fans. What does 10-8 do for boxing that 2-0 can't do?

Lol

He can (and should) put as much distance between GGG and himself as possible while taking other fights and continuing to make money. That's self interest.

It's also indefensible as an athlete. You can't bring GGG into the ring and say "Put the gloves back on, let's go now" and then surrender your belt at the negotiating table without being laughed at.

Yeah, didn't look great during the presser. He cut the interviews short over and unspecified illness.

That's awesome, really wish I could go to that one. Told myself I was 100% going to Canelo-GGG.... that's looking safe, I'll be retired by then

Yea they handled it so poorly.

They didn't need a belt to fight Khan, they didn't need to call GGG into the ring, they didn't need to do the step aside money, pretend they were negotiating with GGG.

They're doing OK when making it about weight, most of the public is too silly to realize Canelo is the bigger fighter, they just see "Canelo has only fought at 155 max before and he's shorter." But they should've started that after the Cotto fight, dropped the belt, fought Khan at 154 and not utter GGG's name at all.

Going camping this weekend. Gonna miss the fight and all the football games except the Patriot game. I am sad.

Gonna try to record the fight and not even find out who won till I watch it Sunday night. Gonna be hard cause i will probably be checking football scores.
