Yea, but last time I checked, Floyd ain't no movie star.

And let's not even get started on who the better musician is. No contest.

I would also say Floyd has pretty much fought everyone he could have fought except for Margarito and seeing how Bob Arum is almost impossible for Floyd to deal with, that is probably not all on Floyd.
Paul Williams is an Al Haymon controlled fighter so that fight is far from easy to make.

Im actually a bigger Hatton fan than Mayweather fan so i was extremely mad at the ref during this fight.

-

On another note. Roach said to a radioshow he think the Pac vs May fight gets made very soon.

http://www.790thezone.com/instantrep....aspx?PID=1345

Apparently Arum dealing with Mayweather and Pacquiao as we type.

Cliffs
- Bob Arum flying to filipines to offer a contract to Pacquiao on fighting Mayweather
- Will be 17 days cutoff on the usada testing
- Roach think Floyd is flatfooted and his legs are gone. Thats why he fought the way he did vs Mosley
- Fight probably in vegas
- "Around 40 million" guarantee for the fighters
- Probably October or november
- Roach wants to fight Roger Mayweather

Personally i wont believe anything until the papers are signed.
Team pacquiao has been allover with their comments during this circus.

Lets hope for the best.

listening to freddie roach on maywhem in the AM..

just said about 40 million dollars to each guy that comes to the table.. negotiations are in the works..

freddie roach has announced this fight IS going to happen, either october or november. definitely before the years out..

philippino congress elections are in 7 days along with the national election, although pacman is likely to be elected freddie roach says he will still train and fight the only difference is he will be congressman pacman now.

EDIT: freddie roach points out that mayweather doesn't have the footing/legs he used to, says he looks flat footed.

EDIT 2: 17-18 day blood testing will be the compromise. Arum is in the Philippines for negotiations right now.

LETS GET IT ON

you stole my post mother****er. apologize

true but he didn't whoop De La Hoya's ass anywhere close to how Pacman destroyed him

Either fighter could be a slight favorite against one another but I will be betting on Pacman to destroy Mayweather.

Its called being weight drained.

Oscar was a sitting duck with IV-marks on his arms from trying to get fluids in his body and rehydrate.

no, it's called Mayweather backing away from De La Hoya the entire fight playing defensive with counter punches instead of engaging him like a man.

Thats your opinion, but the Oscar they fought were entirely different.

Pacquiao might have beaten Oscar at 154 in a healthy condition, but he wouldnt have steamrolled him.

"engaging like a man", this is the sport were you are trying to hit without getting hit.

I've seen the song and dance before. There will be no rematch after a Mayweather win. There'll be no stepping up to fight Paul Williams or Sergio Martinez. There will only be retirement.

i would guess that the $ was not there for a 2nd fight with delahoya. would you have paid to watch that fight again ?? just my guess. it sure is not because delahoya posed a threat to him.

why fight paul williams ?? that is not good management. what's the reward ?? NO ONE knows who paul williams is. Paul Williams as a main attraction does not even 1/2 way fill a arena outside of his hometown (where ever that is) same goes for Martinez.

People have to get over their personal feelings for Floyd and look at him objectively and you will realize that he is a great fighter who has marketed himself brilliantly. His career has been handled superbly.

you obviously just dont like mayweather. no matter what he does you still wont like him. after he beat manny, you will probally say, 'he was suppose to win, he is the bigger man.'

if you fail to see the greatness in mayweather and realize that he has beaten the best in every division he has been in (what is it 3 or 4 now) then there is nothing that he can do or anyone can say to make you realize his greatness.

It has, and the guy behind the scenes pulling all the strings is Al Haymon.
The same Al Haymon is behind Paul Williams career.

That is why that fight would never happen.
A fight with Martinez is much more likely (or with Pac for that matter)

Mayweather is a great fighter. But if wants to make an argument for being the greatest ever (He's probably a top 5 all time) he should have fought more people, more often and in their prime. Not continually waiting for the years to wear on them.

Lol, wtf? Pacquiao makes a big deal about fighting at a catchweight and then on fight night he's above the weight class limit how does that make sense?

Not really worth comparing similar opponents with these two because PBF isn't going to "kill" opponents like Pac can.

i agree with this.. in all honesty i dont think this is gonna be an amazing fight just because its gonna turn out pacquiao trying to hit floyd and pbf trying to counter... would rather see pacquiao/mosley or pacquiao/foreman.. but ive been waiting to see this for a loooong time

Big welters like De la hoya (hes really a solid jr middleweight) can rehydrate to 160+ lbs. (Oscar didnt this time because he couldnt, he was completely unable to rehydrate, therefore looking like a ghost)

Pacquiao weighing 148½ is still being small for the weight come fightnight.

On another side, it is a common tactic from his trainer Freddie Roach to try to drain fighters and make them focus more on dieting than training.

no no no no no no no no

please stop saying this.

Floyd isn't the GOAT. He isn't close. He isn't top ten, and I don't know that that's particularly close either.

Even if Floyd beats Manny, and then Paul Williams, he isn't the GOAT. That maybe gets him near the top five. Maybe.

There are a ton of boxers above him right now.

1. Sugar Ray Robinson
2. Muhammad Ali
3. Henry Armstrong
4. Joe Louis
5. Willie Pep
6. Roberto Duran
7. Benny Leonard
8. Jack Johnson
9. Jack Dempsey
10. Sam Langford
11. Joe Gans
12. Sugar Ray Leonard
13. Harry Greb
14. Rocky Marciano
15. Jimmy Wilde
16. Gene Tunney
17. Mickey Walker
19. Stanley Ketchel
20. George Foreman
21. Tony Canzoneri
22. Barney Ross
23. Jimmy McLarnin
24. Julio Cesar Chavez
25. Marcel Cerdan
26. Joe Frazier
27. Ezzard Charles
18. Archie Moore
28. Jake LaMotta
29. Sandy Saddler
30. Terry McGovern
31. Billy Conn
32. Jose Napoles
33. Ruben Olivares
34. Emile Griffith
35. Marvin Hagler
36. Eder Jofre
37. Thomas Hearns
38. Larry Holmes
39. Oscar De La Hoya
40. Evander Holyfield
41. Ted "Kid" Lewis
42. Alexis Arguello
43. Marco Antonio Barrera
44. Pernell Whitaker
45. Carlos Monzon
46. Roy Jones Jr.
47. Bernard Hopkins
48. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
49. Erik Morales
50. Mike Tyson

This list was compiled in 2007, and Floyd hasn't had enough really great wins since then to catapult anywhere near the top five or ten. Aside from a few quirks, the list is generally pretty solid.

Let's stop overrating both Floyd and Manny and their historical p4p status. Manny is actually probably a bit higher right now, but neither is in the top ten.
