I watched Khan-Algeiri last night for the first time and really liked what I saw from Algeiri. I thought maybe he had a flukey and questionable decision over Prov but this was a solid fight that he was in the whole way. Unfortunately he doesn't have the power necessary to really be dangerous but the guy is a gamer and I liked his stuff. He has great footwork and head movement but I feel for a guy with so little power he needs to throw more combos. Basically went all out on some overhand rights (albeit had some v good body shots on Khan) but his hand speed looks pretty good and I bet he could throw some more combos. At least I wouldn't mind watching him more, which wasn't necessarily a sure thing after the Pacquiao fight.

As far as Khan goes whatever. Clearly not the dominant Pacmanesque performance he wanted v Algeiri but I am a bit of a fanboy and will watch him v anyone. Still, this does not at all bode well for any sort of Mayweather fight. Much more interested in a fight with Brook.

Vargas has been handed some ridiculous scores in his favor. He's approaching Danny Garcia level undefeated.

I'd take Bradley at -500 or perhaps even longer had he not had such a poor performance his last time out. I'd have to rewatch that fight to feel comfortable betting on either of these fighters.

The Bradley of old had too much speed, combined with toughness, to lose to a guy like Vargas more than 10-15% of the time.

I agree for the most part. I thought Bradley beat Chaves but I did think it was close. I'm wondering if the Prov fight took some out of Bradley because he should probably be winning wider v Chaves than he did.

I can see Porter saying ... its at 147 or GTFO.

Porter has nothing to gain by taking that fight. He loses and its a legit step back since AB is so devalued right now, he beats AB and no one cares...

lol AB is insanely delusional

All hype no fight

They had no rematch clause so that ain't happening. I'd still pay to see Broner Maidana II though

Yeah that was shocking refereeing. Even worse was Johnny Nelson questioning Paul Smith on saying it was shocking refereeing.

Pretty standard Sky Boxing philosophy ... ignore everything unless it happens to the home fighter.

Paul Smith only said it because he does not like Rocky Fielding

Callum Smith is gonna be in trouble here going into the later rounds.

Shame Rebrasse has little power because hes a decent fighter.

Callum would struggle against someone with a proper dig .. Groves would be too heavy handed for Callum i reckon.

Even Fielding might beat Callum.

Dont think either Rocky or Callum will amount to much at World level, neither are technically good enough imo

If I remember correctly He dominated the first half of the fight and by the last 4 rounds he had completely lost vision in one of his eyes due to swelling from the early head butting. If he can actually see I think Bradley wins the end of the fight too.

Lemieux just did an interview on The Roles podcast. He basically said he wants to fight GGG, but it isn't happening anytime soon.

Seems like Golden Boy want to capitalize on his name against easier competition before throwing him into a fight where he will be a (live?) underdog.

Also was interesting the entire Ropes podcast did not spend one second on Wards comeback fight.

They talked Ward's fight in the previous pod actually. Talked a potential Ward/GGG fight as well.

Soliman just kinda got robbed vs Wade. I wanted Wade to win too, but hard to see him winning enough rounds imo. Unfortunate that the slip/push was ruled a knockdown, wasn't a clean punch and feet were a bit tangled/push happened. That was Soliman's 10-9 round too and I bet Byrd (the 95-94 judge) scored it 10-8 Wade after that misrule. Oh well, had no money on it, but sucks to see Soliman strategically own an undefeated prospect and come up short.

Yep, this is the same read I have. Seems pretty clear IBF would let him fight GGG right away, but DLH and co are saying "oh no, he has to fight his IBF mandatory first, so GGG will come next year." They seem to need to cash in, between DLH talking about a comeback fight and this type of stuff, wouldn't surprise me if Golden Boy was struggling a bit.

Maybe PBC/Haymon takeover is starting to effect Golden Boy's bottom line?

re: Pods. I mostly just listen to The Ropes. Rafe is pretty good, wish he wrote for Grantland more.

Bradley vs Vargas - anyone know if this is shown in the uk?

I am expecting this fight to be somewhat of a firecracker!
