Why MGM? Seems like a huge waste

Agreed.

I hope they build a temporary stadium that's much bigger. They could use the track and field at UNLV.

15th June is a Monday, hoping that's just a typo and meant to be 13th.

If so I'll be in Vegas, won't be there on 15th tho.

According to respected Irish journalist Gerry Callan, Andy Lee has been offered a defence against Peter Quillin in Brooklyn on April 11th.

Genius from Quillin, go after the belt you recently relinquished despite mega bucks being offered.

Arum says Manny agreed to everything, and they're just waiting for Mayweather. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/boxing...012634983.html

From the sounds of it, it seems like the fight is closer to happening than ever before.

Thurman - Guerrero with Broner - John Molina on UC set to debut Haymon's deal with NBC in March.

Most of the fights on the deal will be on NBC Sports, but some of the bigger cards (like this one) would be on regular NBC.

Interesting, looking forward to Thurman Guererro. Molina is an interesting matchup for Broner at least, should force action which is cool.

Fight will be May 2, not in June. And Floyd won't sign most likely

If Floyd does not sign, that would define his legacy, right? Or part of it.

I got a buddy who says he shouldn't take the fight because the '0' matters more than this arbitrary 'legacy' people talk about.

Mayweather supporters are... strange.

By agreeing to all of Money's terms, Manny's team is making a power play to put Floyd on the spot. Floyd will look like a bitch if he makes another excuse to not fight Manny. This fight is closer to happening than ever before.

If Floyd doesn't sign, he will forever be considered a bitch in the eyes of the boxing community.

I think it'll happen this year. Floyd will want to make some minor changes, but that's it. There's too much money on the table to avoid this forever and we all know that he's about the money.

Imagine if Arum can open up the Chinese market. Could be talking a billion dollar fight.

The MGM has yet to confirm, and PBF has yet to confirm.

Still, dust off the ItsHappening.gif because they may be pressed in to service soon

If Floyd opens at less than -200, back the truck up sadly

Of course. I bet nothing's even written down. It's just a move to either get Floyd to sign or to shame him for being a chump.

If this is a legitimate source then the fight is probably 99% certain...

LEGITIMATE SOURCE?

Seems everyone has agreed to it except Floyd. Wouldn't be shocked to see an announcement of the fight in the next week.

Trying not to be too hopeful, but it really seems 75%+ at this point.

He's -275-300 in most places it seems.

Line seems good to me, probably won't be betting. Seems like a 70-75% chance Floyd win to me.

i'm still really interested in this fight. don't think i need to bet on it and agree that those odds seem about right. might place a bet on manny just because the heart wants what the heart wants tho. probably one of those bets you place while you are drunk the night before or the night of

sure seems like a lot of public money would be on manny tho esp when you consider the asian betting market

Everyone is still interested in this fight I think.

My friend, a previous diehard boxing fan, grew jaded in 2014, between Danny Garcia Salka type matchups, and Danny Garcia Herrera type scorecards.

This is the type of fight to renew his interest 100%, and I'm sure there are legions more out there.

Also Haymon's NBC deal apparently calls for 7 total shows on regular NBC, and 9 shows on NBC sports. That's more on regular NBC than I thought, and that should be great for renewing interest in the sport, especially if Thurman - Guerrero and Peterson - Garcia fights are the norm.

Cool fight tomorrow night.

Lundy is a late replacement to fight Petrov (the Boxino tournament winner at 135).

Lundy lost a close one to Dulorme in December, this is a super quick turnaround. He also fought at 140 in that fight, so if he makes 135, that's the sign of a serious fighter.

More importantly, could be a good competitive fight, above average for a FNF main event.

----

On a side note, Saturday night on Showtime would be a great time to announce a Floyd Manny fight. My hopes aren't up, I swear!

Anybody know enough about the fighters to say what Manny/Marquez tells us about Manny/Mayweather?

Only thing I know is that Marquez is a counterpuncher like Floyd.
